>> the other aspect is Slate is already starting to work at vertical integration

I'm curious what they're working on? Vertical integration can be capital intensive. I'm curious what systems they've said they're taking from suppliers.

Not trolling. I'm genuinely interested.

I’m hoping they stick with a basic truck, don’t get money hungry and start adding a lot of fancy, unnecessary stuff and run the price up.

They can always sell options and accessories online to be installed by the owner.
Keep Amazon busy.
Most people outside of us sycophants here in this forum say that no one wants to buy a single cab truck with nothing in it for that much money. I ask them, show me another single cab truck in this price range? They can't find one. It seems a lot of people do not get the appeal of simplicity.

They haven’t put too much emphasis on it but from what we know they are building their own seats, they have the wrap kit factory, and I believe they are assembling the battery packs themselves.

Keep building the Blankest Slate, let them buy all the DIY stuff they desire.

According to this article deliveries wont begin until the middle of next year.
No idea where they got their information or if its plain BS, but I'm having second thoughts if it's true.
Might be like a lot of other product releases; well over the initial price estimated and endless launch delays.

i would much rather give credibility to Slate email and their website. Quoting a forum rather than company?????

Starting with the headline, that article seems to be trash: The price will be announced the day you can put the $300 down.
The mid-2027 is probably pulled from someone's forum guess and stated as fact.

I wouldn't put much stock in everything this article contains. While much of the information has been published elsewhere through news letters, announcements and such; several embellishments dilute what could have been an informative article. "Asking buyers to commit $300 without knowing the sticker price" followed up with "final price will be revealed when the order window opens" contradicts their message in nearly the very same sentence. Claiming "a turbulent path to production and multiple shake-ups" etc. including the changing of the CEO is a bit of a stretch as well. I haven't seen any sign of "well over the initial price estimate" or "endless launch delays" at all. I choose to believe they will stay the course. 👍

Sort of like believing the Wall Street Journal or Enron back in the 80's.
One gave dire warnings the other assuring investors everything is just fine
