Ergonomics / Human Factors Engineering on the Slate Truck

Good to know. I'm 6'3" and was hoping the driver's seat is accommodating.

    Unrealistic Delivery Date

I don't know what number we were, but Ford announced 100k in orders about 1 month after we ordered. It took 17 months to get it and we were bumped to a 2023 model year. It was worth the wait, we were able to save and buy it outright without financing (first new vehicle i did not finance). I am...

Will you have self control when choosing add-ons?

I want a Blank Slate with maybe the extended range battery and tonneau trifold cover. I would like to put a wrap on it. Maybe down the line get some cool rims for it.

Will you be installing a Level 2 charger?

We have an electrician in the family. He said he would install level 2 for us no problem. With that said, I think level 1 would work for us.

Playing devil's advocate here, comparing Slate Truck vs. Ford Maverick

My morning commute in our 23 Maverick hybrid. Going home i usually get 42mpg. I want a Slate to add to the stable.

I think the Cybertruck is cool. My wife thinks it is ugly. I want a small pickup, it really sucks that Tesla has not come out with one. All of the manufacturers really dropped the ball on this. A 1/2 ton or higher rated truck is overkill for most city dwellers.

Air Suspension, Carplay, onboard cooler, double din radio, climate control, wi-fi, hands free liftgate, self driving, waffle maker...

I like the idea of oem fog lights, but I haven't had any on any of my cars that were worth a damn. I have tried changing to led bulbs, etc. They still suck. Maybe it is my old eyes.

    Wrap or no wrap?

I like the look of Carbon fiber. I think it would look awesome as a wrap. I think changing out the stock hex bolts to anodized red hex bolts would provide contrast to the look.

I am a DYI on basic maintenance. I like to change my own oil ( I am an amsoil snob, my flame suit is on) and usually do maintenance earlier than recommended manufacturer schedule. I don I am not a DIY pro, but i am a certified you tube mechanic. I actually like to change my oil, (I am an amsoil...

I want a blank Slate. Will consider doing the extended battery pack and tonneau cover. Will DIY a cool wrap. After having a Maverick hybrid the last 2 years, we find having a smaller truck meets 99% of our needs as a city dweller. We have a 2014 f150 that will be put on part time duty for dump...

This is the small truck Tesla should have produced...

I am disappointed of the price gouging seen on the Maverick. I was lucky, I factory ordered a XLT with lux package when the model came out. It took 17 months to get and got bumped to a 2023 model (a blessing due to all the recalls). We were $28k out the door. It has been great for us but in no...
