From what I remember from the Rich Rebuilds video it felt like a maybe. There’s been multiple videos of people getting hands on with Slate and saying that there looks like there’s room for a front motor already built into the Slate Prototypes design. Jay Leno also mentioned something about the...
Agreed but the Slate is already clearly been built with the idea of adding an AWD/4WD Option in the Near Future don't think we will need to wait for a Gen 2 or Slate XL for it. Question is should a Slate XL be a Full Size, Mid Size, or Maverick sized vehicle? Either way definitely think they...
That’s a very good point, if that is the case I still think if Slate is making it an easy install for double din radios. They should have some kind of mount that could be bought or easily 3D Printed for Single Din Radios. That way an uniformed buyer that is just using the Slate Builder and...
Something else that hasn't been confirmed before this article is apparently there will 1st party stereo accessory options. Makes me wonder that me mentioning in a YouTube Comment that Slate's PR Guy was reading had an effect, since one of the few potential issues I saw with Slate was the fact...
IMO if I was product planning 2 Door Slate Truck -> AWD Option -> 4 Door Slate XL -> Small Slate Coupe or Sedan with a Hatch/Lift back trunk and an 80's body design -> Modular Slate Van
Never had an a single cab truck but I always just had my dog in the passenger seat of extended cab truck. Would be awesome if Slate offered a Dog Friendly Element like Accessories SUV Kit Package one day.
With this being said if you don't need AWD, don't mind RWD with Snow Tires for winter, or in general RWD isn't a dealbreaker for you and you are a reservation holder: Buy the RWD one because if too many people wait for the AWD version, we may never see it. Which is why I thought they were going...
For me it's Affordability and Customization as the Top 2. If I could pick a 3rd it would be the fact it's Made in the USA. The least interesting thing about the Slate Truck for me is the fact that it's BEV but that just adds to it's long term affordability.
Apparently they were originally going to do it but from my understanding some of the female members of the Slate Crew mentioned they are less comfortable with the old school manual keys.
True which is why I give Slate the benefit of the doubt when they do give a concrete price or price range announcement.
For those curious what we know on princing: Blank Slate will be Mid-20K, $500 for Wrap Kits ($250-$300 for Service), and the full SUV Kit will be in the range of $5000.
