Thoughts about woodgrain on the sides?

Not attached to the panels...replace the panels. Keep in mind all the side panels come off. Keep in mind that something like this would be a show car, not a go car. Well maybe Saturday night cruse...a guy can dream.

Thoughts about woodgrain on the sides?

FWIW - Why not just make the panels out of wood? Some stain, Spar varnish, and there you are. A 1930s speed boat look. Better yet, tow a '30s speed boat with matching look.

Slate Maker fender flares shift tires outboard? Possible wheel spacers?

I am not speculating on anything I see until 6/24. I want to see the specs of the production Slate. I am not trusting the accuracy of photos or the "maker" all based on beta pre-production models or just CGI renderings. Things like tire spacing in the maker may just be artifacts. They have to be...

Dashboard Speakers DO NOT come standard, and more audio options in the works [confirmed]

All I want is to be able to buy extra dash panels. (In case I butcher one trying to make it look "factory".) I will put in my own radio/speaker. If I am using the Slate as a pickup, with road noise, my old ears, I don't need more than 1 speaker. One concern is there will be no 12 V power when...

    Rooftop Solar Charging

I put together a DIY solar generator at our weekend cabin. (Not tied into the grid, total separate system.) Mostly for running security cams, some lights, tool charging, etc. I built it for smiles and giggles but added a couple of panels recently. I will be adding an outdoor plug for EV level 1...

Charging Stations Are An Issue In Many Cities

I just want to know why electric utilities are not jumping on board with this to sell their "product"? My suspicion is they have become used to getting government subsidies, and know how to "sell" to politicians and have lost the ability to sell to consumers. I just charged at a new Tesla V4...

    Range predictions

Always better to under promise and over deliver. This has been the weak point of EVs; Range is advertised using new fresh batteries, trying to make the numbers look as impressive as possible. I think Slate should drop the 2 battery option and just go with the larger battery. It would save $$$...

First Interview I've seen with Slate's new CEO Peter Faricy

What bothers me about this interview is at the end, he is asked about charging networks. In fact the question had a lead in it about Walmart. And Mr. Faricy missed it. Walmart has a program of installing EV fast chargers at most locations. If he does not know this already, he is not qualified to...

Slate plans to double staff and invest $10.4 million at Michigan HQ

I just hope Slate invests in engineers and less in marketers. Slate will need a line of well designed accessories, some examples; A VTL that uses the NICS connector to allow use of the stored power, a true need with modern work trucks. A winch. A section of Slate U that teaches how to charge...

Slate Marketing is making me lose interest.

IMHO I am in agreement with the author of this Forum. I also have a country place with the first addition to the Slate will be my tool box from my old Ranger. My first trip will probably be a trip to the dump with a hosing out of the bed after. But as a life long Detroiter I have lived around...

Jeff Bezos' rep leaves Slate Auto’s board of directors

The farther Slate is from politics, the better I like it! That is the original reason I said goodbye Cybertruck, Hello Slate! Maybe I'll buy two...

Absolutely buying, but worried about this one thing...

My biggest concern is even though Slate is a Michigan based company, the Direct purchase process may still have problems. I had to drive to Ohio to purchase my first Tesla, and I have not heard how Slate will address this. The dealer lobby is very strong in Michigan. Also, will Slate take...

Absolutely buying, but worried about this one thing...

Assuming the battery is the "standard" 150 mile version, charged to 80% (120 miles) and a temperature around 80 F. Based on my Model 3 experience, you should not have any worries. At 35 F I would have some concern. I do wonder where this would be that would not have EV charging along the way...

    Adding partial wrap later

I know nothing about wraps. Having said that, my plan is to get the basic truck, drive it for a while then decide what I want. Unless; Some type of introductory deal on wraps. Then I go '50s style two tone.
