Mine was a 1980-something Buick Skyhawk. Basically, a Chevy Cavalier. It was beat-up, had passed through other family members. But it was wheels that got me around, and helped get to work at the grocery store to save money and buy the next thing. The engine on this thing would spit oil back into...
I don't know about the Bolt specifically, many of the Chevy/GM cars are fairly easy to pull the OnStar module out. It does not take away OTA via WiFi if you connect to your home WiFi, and WiFi can still be an avenue of security/privacy risk.
This is in no way in support of the dealership model. Not even a little.
In fact, I agree with pretty much everything you said, so this is just sharing a thought as I read your post.
I think the one area of service profit, that is if Slate when a dealership route, would be in the...

So are you a structural and/or automotive engineer? Do you really think a tow rating is just a made up number that they can pick out of thin air? I'm pretty positive that a tow rating has some engineering behind it and it has that rating for a reason.
EDIT: I'll add this for education purposes...
Oh there was definitely some sagging in there, some muted colors as the eyes degrade, etc. LoL. Speaking as a middle aged person, I can say the eye degradation is a real pain. Those damned crows feet creeping in, and the ever so slight start of the wrinkles on my hands as the elasticity starts...
What you seem to fail to understand is that this is not a truck for everyone in every situation, and was never intended to be. If you listen to the interviews with all the players, it is clear they have a target market. The people you speak of are simply not in their wheel house, and I think...
