  1. SLATE truck attends WORK Truck Week in Indianapolis

I'd bet it's a frunk release. Aren't they required now in any frunk/trunk? As far as V2L, I seriously doubt the Slate will have a 120V outlet, as convenient as that would be. If by some chance it will have one, wouldn't it be in the bed? Besides worksite usability, that would put it closer to...
  2. Great Interview with Chris Barman: "Slate's Wild Idea To Fix The Auto Industry"

I see they revamped the maker a little. Now, you can specify HSL values for the custom color wraps!
  3. Blank slate narrative is a mistake, and that needs to change

Interesting video that just posted. Enjoy. Where the #$&! Is My Compact EV Work Truck!?
  4. Slate Auto w/ Tonneau Cover Walkaround from Fort Worth Texas showing (February 27)

Um, no. He was rotating backwards, clockwise on the passenger side, and the window was going down. That should be the up motion. Up should be counter-clockwise on the driver side. As was mentioned by cadblu, prototype, prototype. Here's hoping.
  5. Slate Auto w/ Tonneau Cover Walkaround from Fort Worth Texas showing (February 27)

Contrary to what I was told at the Philadelphia Zoo event, those window cranks work backwards.
  6. Articles and Videos of Interest That Don't Merit Their Own Threads

Another okay video from Mike the Car Geek. As usual, not much new, but very upbeat. The forum got a mention!
  7. Sodium batteries for cold weather performance

I didn't know it had a name either. At least it isn't Mar-a-Lago face.
  8. AWD! Please!

I think instead of the locker option Slate will use the ABS to lock the slipping wheel. Electronic limited slip, aka traction control. It'll get the job done and will save weight...the ABS hardware will be there already
  9. Actively considering cancelling reservation.

Another good resource is https://www.youtube.com/@TheIoniqGuy. This fellow has leased a couple of Ioniq 5s and a 6, and has driven many press cars. His channel has lots of useful information about things to look out for and details on "technical service bulletins"...you know, recalls, as Hyundai...
  10. Video: Slate SUV top rear glass hinge flips up + cargo area room / size (relative to hockey bag)

In addition to the SUV configurations I asked them about, I also inquired about rear footwell access from the cab in a pickup configuration in addition to the pickup rear window. I also asked battery questions and about accessory hookup options. Here's the rest of the reply I received cobbled...
  11. Video: Slate SUV top rear glass hinge flips up + cargo area room / size (relative to hockey bag)

Just yesterday I received a reply (two, actually...I asked a lot of questions) to my questions for Chris' Q&A. Most of the answers, as usual, were we'll let you know once things are finalized. Here's what I got regarding the SUV tops: "Regarding cargo and roof options, the SUV and Fastback...
  12. Blind Spot Warning

I've not seen any mentions of BSW and just kind of assumed Slate wouldn't have it. My opinion of BSW is pretty much meh, so I'm good either way. What's more important and something I've not seen any mention of is how the side mirrors adjust. Looks to me like it will be open the window and do it...
  13. Slate Pickup driving on parking garage (video)

I would certainly prefer amber rear turn signals but I don't think that's in the cards. I got the impression that the standard front turn signals and taillights are single LED bulbs with reflectors and lenses, and the upgrades are LED grids (4x4 front and 12x3 rear with the center 2 as reverse...
  14. Double-din radio housing for center dash and dash speaker blanks

I don't think that's a removable panel, but mounting points for the door cubby option. If you go to the maker doors and interior options, watch the bottom of the door card and switch the door cubby option on and off; you can see how the cubby uses those mounting points.
  15. Slate announces Tesla supercharger access + 4,000 service / repair shops RepairPal partnership!

The difference, at least for me, would be that a bed topper limits access to the bed from the topper window & tailgate, while the non-SUV cargo kit sounds like there's access to the bed from the cab. At the Philly Zoo event I asked about access to the rear footwell area in the truck...
