The number of blank slate orders vs suv upgrades will be interesting to watch next week. My guess, 65% or more of early adopters will want the extras especially if priced aggressively. 35% will go for blanks but mostly for commercial vehicle usage.

Same here. Emergency charger and roadside kit, tire inflator goes up front.
but the dog in the Frunk … interesting! I’m working on that mod right now!
Oh man. $27500ish for extended range that’s a tough one.
would 150 mile pack give you range anxiety? I had the leaf for a while and it stressed me out everytime I hit the interstate … especially in the winter. Had to charge every 2hrs. Model 3 standard LFP and Ioniq6 would force me to charge...
Motorola said he was willing to spend $29k on 240 mile range truck. Ya?
I said that’s $5k over valued.
you said show me the $20k truck.
Bottom line: I want 240 mile range slate for $25k. I’d think more of us would like this too instead of rolling with the leaked price and speculated battery...
folks we’re in violent agreement about wanting the slate.
I responded to Motorola’s shared spreadsheet telling Slate they’d gladly pay $25k for the blank and $4k for extended battery before they announced pricing. That’s one shrewd negotiating tactic. LOL
I’m saying $25k no frills truck should be the target. You’re saying $29k for no frills is fine. And you hallucinated $20k but that’s ok it’s late.
Love the list! and glad it fits your budget. Was a beautiful equation when fed tax credits existed. I just think it’s about $5k overpriced compared to other small truck options
it’s like saying, sure I’d be happy to spend $550,000 on materials to build that $500,000 house myself. Huh? Why...
<rant on>
I get being enthusiastic about a simple 2 door pickup. I do. folks import k-trucks for a reason … not many units but they do.
But the market has proven that most small 2 doors have gone extinct. I want Slate to succeed which means they need volume. They need to disrupt. In general...
You’re not wrong if flying solo. 2 door simplicity could be great for a tiny in town or space limited pickup.
But for those already considering an SUV upfit or with family … from a market competitiveness angle, pricing and range are going to be key compared to ford’s option.
I’m dreaming of...
Anyone hear if their wrap will be recyclable or if slate will except returns to dispose of properly? if vinyl type and fades in a few years, that’s generating a lot of trash.
If that price holds, fingers crossed it’s for extended range 240 miles. Otherwise slate going to have a difficult time competing with ford maverick hybrid which comes with 4 doors, paint, locks, power windows, and entertainment center for $28k. My estimate for built out Slate SUV and wrap is...
As far as fix/repair goes, save as other vehicles
Brakes and brake fluid. Maybe upgrade lines if heavy loads requiring lots of braking.
Suspension
Tire/wheel upgrades
Bushings/bearings
Bulbs
What’s new to wrench on or should be easier with slate:
Anything inside of, or behind, the dash...
