My plan is to wrap my slate in banana yellow, orange juice orange, or green/pink aka juicy watermelon, and take it out every weekend, posting my camping exploits on Instagram.
It's going to be a good time. Hopefully.
Washington/Oregon coastal beaches!
If things go as planned, I'll be taking my slate on the sand, setting up a popup shelter/small tent in the bed (or on the beach) for sun protection.
A side benefit of the body panels being plastic = no rust!
I wonder how silly I could get with bluetooth...
LOL No way I'm ever removing the doors as I'm always driving with my dog. Great article though, ups that confidence!
I do think I'd like some kind of wheel treatment. I can save that for way later when the aftermarket develops.
I don't need a test drive. Cars are like appliances nowdays. I don't know if you can tell if a given car will give you back pain based on a 10-15 minute drive.
The more people that chicken out, the faster my truck will arrive!
Great article! As someone who's newest car is from 2013, I basically avoided the whole pay to play thing and lived to survive it.
Can you believe it's almost August?
Thanks for this update! Changed mine to May instead of earliest possible.
Edit: Not that I expect to get delivery that month. I'm assuming its a likely bonus.
Wow, that tent is crazy! No rooftop tents for me, I like a few beers and can't risk breaking my ankle trying to to get out to pee at 1am.
Put down the $300.
Great idea about the locking straps! That's one concern, the cooler slamming the bed while driving.
2027 will be here before you know it!
I'm in! For some silly reason I assumed the wrap cost included installation. $500 Wait what?
I've done some research, having someone else wrap it is a pain.
Clicked the radio button requesting an earlier delivery. Yay!
I'm in the PNW and will hit a milestone birthday in 2027. I camp as much as I can May - September.
We're tent campers:
IF my work contract is renewed next year, I think a Slate truck could be in my future, as a treat to myself while I'm still (relatively) young.
Current car is 10+ years...
