Battery Skate Platform - can it be dropped / lowered for replacement?

...that video is 11 years old from 2015, there was no slop machines in existence yet back then. Basic articulated tentacles like this have existed for decades, it's not that hard of a mechanical engineering challenge.

Question - Animated LED Turn/Tail Light Upgrade

That's not an 'all inclusive' example just a baseline demo showing they can animate.

    Exterior care

Yeah it's odd that the A-pillars are excluded like that to me as well, and I plan the same to get the A-pillars wrapped. Going for the whole cab area in one of the silvers honestly to reject as much heat as possible and a roughly matching silver tint on the rear glass as well.

The You Asked For It Tour -- 8 City Cross Country Trip w/ Slate Truck... announcement and taking requests

Honestly I think they're trying to scoop up all the 'too small for a full ride-along event' areas and lot of rural / back-woods roads, so more likely I-80 -> I-29 down to Kansas City -> I-70 to Utah -> I-15 to Salt Lake City -> I-80 to Reno, then down CA-395 to San Diego.

Dash Cam install in your Slate, YEA or NAY?

So when powered off the WolfBox is as reflective as any other rear view mirror I've used. But in the US at least generally (I'm not gonna try to re-verify all 50 states right now, sorry XD) you always need a drivers-side mirror and EITHER a passenger-side OR central rear-view mirror. You used...

Cargo Kit / High Roof Cargo Kit / Options and Fleet Sales Update (from Slate Portland Demo Event)

Other way around, the roll-bar is the absolute first part in, because the rear bench seats and their seat belts bolt to the roll-bar, then the roof shell goes over top last which is likely why they decided to offer the open-air kit so suddenly. You could easily remove the seats, just the system...

Dash Cam install in your Slate, YEA or NAY?

I use a WolfBox here, they replace the rear-view mirror entirely which is super convenient for mounting and you really notice how nice it is having your cargo and passengers not able to get in the way of your rear view AND not being able to be blinded by headlights behind you since the...

    Anyone anticipate a SDF?

Slate Delay Factor. You never specified what the acronym meant, and it's opaque as drywall. Not everyone enjoys word puzzles or deals with random acronym soup on the regular to be able to puzzle them out. :)

Edmunds - 2027 Slate Truck First Drive Review: There's Potential, But I'm Not Convinced (8/25/26)

This right here, like 8 seconds 0-60 is only 2 seconds slower than my Subaru BRZ that's still considered a helluva decent cheap RWD 'fun car' even today. It's a truck, not a drag strip race car. Next he'll be complaining that it's top speed is 'only' 90mph.

Cargo Kit / High Roof Cargo Kit / Options and Fleet Sales Update (from Slate Portland Demo Event)

I mean high-roof model vehicles are often not garage-able in normal residential garages or parking structures, they live street-side or in a driveway. That's the trade-off of opting for a high roof. And I agree that standing height is quite a bit of a reach and would look awkward at best...

Cargo Kit / High Roof Cargo Kit / Options and Fleet Sales Update (from Slate Portland Demo Event)

The rear beam on the cab is part of the welded frame, so that can't go away. But replacing the cab roof plastic panel with one that's a dead flat shelf on the inside with an exterior arch that continues the windshield angle up? That would let you raise the cargo area to a comfortable 'seated...

Regen braking non adjustable ? Deal breaker for me.

The issue is often there's no coolant flow then either, so you're limited to "whatever heat is in the cabin radiator loop" for heat which is a LOT less.

Roof loading (on roof bars) concerns

That 'front bar only' seems more intended for mounting a lightbar, or to be paired with the 'tower rack' options, most likely the twin tower racks with the cross-bracing between them as you end up with three equally spaced crossbars at equal height then.

    Who's Wrapping Their Slate

My plan to start at least, silver fox cab to blend better with some planned aluminum bed accessories, white beltline, iron ore lower.

Slate (Near Production Unit VIN 002) at Demo Days Alameda -- Photos

Wasn't meant in an attack way, just genuine confusion because it seemed to tick every possible box to make it quite easy to access I could think of, so I was curious what I was overlooking, sorry if it came across as aggressive! And yeah I guess knowing that EV-sized 12V batteries are usually...
