I want my phone to have a 3.5mm jack. I want my phone to have a replaceable battery. I want my phone to be a "right to repair" titan.minute 16-17...talking about whether battery can be modified later? or even replaced ? by eventually cheaper batteries? (see China doing it now).
This is a question I have - shouldn't all EVs being made now have this ability to replace or modify the battery without having to buy an entirely new EV.?

That gets difficult. In China that aren't letting customers modify and upgrade batteries, some companies are "renting" the batteries, or renting them as part of the lease on the vehicle. The idea is instead of waiting on a charge, you pull the car into a swap station, where robots swap the battery. Thanks for answering on this. Not sure what lies ahead for (the HOLY GRAIL) - Solid State batteries. Toyota keeps saying they have been able to produce them - and a new vehicle with Solid State is imminent....hmmm🤔That gets difficult. As far as batteries being able to be repaired, replaced, upgraded by the user, 2 problems. 1 is safety, the power contained in them is no joke, and the second is due to size and weight they are often practically a part of the structure of the car.
If the battery isn't defective that's a moot question.Don't you think though - at some point there will be the ability to swap out batteries? (of the same chemistry?).
The Chinese already have EVs with solid state batteries. The energy density is even worse than LFP, so they're typically relegated to short-range applications. A lot of the solid-state bettery hype is coming from people with only a first-order understanding of battery technology or companies who are chasing investment. So much could change between now and when EV capable solid-state solutions become available with a packaging, price point, and energy density comparable to LFP that speculation about retrofits is about as reliable as reading tea leaves.Thanks for answering on this.
