I have seen videos with it both ways. most of the older videos seem to have it so you slide your hand in from the back with the hinge towards the front. In the more recent videos they seem to have switched that around.

Yeah, since the cargo frame is not a safety cage (driver and passenger are in the cabs safety cage), they could probably remove those supports that hug the wheel wells and only have the connections at the cab and towards the tailgate.

I would pay between $2000-$3000 for a fastback cargo kit. Maybe $1500-$2500 for the square back. Cheaper would be nice though. But it depends on the final design and compatibility with other accessories.
