Personally, I plan to buy the blank Slate (maybe also the door cubbies and colored panels). AFTER I have payed off my loan balance, I plan to get the SUV kit for an open-air/cargo option, to add some spice back into my life without the extra heartburn.

We don’t know much about the Fathom, while we know more about the Slate, as vehicles. What we know about the Fathom is Ford’s bureaucracy. We also have a decent idea about Slate’s bureaucracy. To that end, I don’t think gigity casting fits Slate’s MO. It doesn’t make sense for the cost-conscious...

Ford’s test won’t be whether they can bring the product to market. Their test will be, can they deliver the product the way they promised. And will it be reliable. If they sell an inexpensive ev truck that costs double to insure, is that actually affordable. If a recall triggers a buyback...

I mean, even in general. The insurance for something so dang proprietary is going to give some fanboys pause.
