Front Bumper upgrade? Fog Lights, Brush Bar, Winch??

Tow hooks would be cool, too.

Day 3: "You Asked For It" Tour -- Put It To Work at Bowling Alley (@ Chicago)

Maybe they just put that on there so they wouldn’t get the seats dirty? 🤷‍♂️

Review video: I Drove the Slate Truck and it’s actually Great! (by MilesPerHr)

LED lights might be more expensive upfront, but they consume way less energy and produce less heat than incandescent bulbs. The upgrades just look like a chunkier design, but must have more lumens or a nicer housing or something. The upgraded DRLs don’t even have a price yet. The animated ones...

Consumer Reports: electric cars less reliable than gas or hybrids

The ICCU thing is real, especially in regard to the Hyundai Ioniq 5. They keep trying to figure it out, but just extended the warranty on the ICCU to 8 years, I think. Rivian has had issues with the 12V battery in the R1T and R1S. They keep replacing them when the warning light comes on. No...

This is still a preproduction vehicle, right?

Ooh that New SLATE Truck Smell

Same. It’s the plastic from the interior off-gassing. I prefer my vehicles to smell like nothing and/or clean. Not too astringent, just clean.

I love Pittsburgh. That was our closest “big” city back when I lived in Wheeling, WV. I loved going to the Strip District back in the day. Eide’s music, video, and comic book store was amazing. I think both our metro areas are above 2 million people. Not as big as Detroit or Chicago, but…...

Slate signals December 2026 as first delivery date / month (Business Insider article)

Depends on demand and how fast they can ramp up. It’s possible.

What is your transmission or drive control experience?

Is this why manual transmission get better gas mileage?

What is your transmission or drive control experience?

I “drove” a semi-electric stacker at Kroger. I was 18 or 19 at the time. The stacker was falling apart and you had to kick the circuits together to get it to move. I got the throttle positions mixed up, kicked the circuits together and it started rolling toward me. I jumped out of the way and it...

What is your transmission or drive control experience?

I’ve never driven a manual, but I’m currently leasing a Model 3. When I first got it I noticed the regen braking right away. Within a few days to maybe a week it was second nature. Unfortunately through updates I think they’ve turned the regen braking down, so the vehicle coasts more. I don’t...

Gardena Demo Rides (Sep 3-7) -- Reviews, Impressions, Photos -- Post Yours!

Great pics. When did they change wrap suppliers? Are the colors really the same, just a different supplier? You would think a different company would have different shades due to licensing and whatnot.

Yeah, my wife and I are going to have to drive to Detroit sometime in the Fall. It’s 3 hours one way from Columbus, Ohio and we’ll definitely stay overnight. It’s best to look for other stuff to do while you’re there, which shouldn’t be hard since it’s Chicago. I’m not sure about Detroit...

Slate signals December 2026 as first delivery date / month (Business Insider article)

Yep, that too. I think there are also people who reserve everything they can even though they have no intention to buy because it’s fully refundable. The $300 isn’t. I decided to go for it.

    I'm going Rivian

Turo is like Air BNB for cars. People can set any price they want. It’s just that particular person asking that much.

    I'm going Rivian

Actually the cheapest R2 is the R2 Standard RWD for $44,990 and the cheapest Slate is the Blank Slate, so 1.8 Slates.

Haha. Yeah, it was a terrible car. I had to share it with my brother. My Dad bought us a used one in the 90’s, so I could get back and forth to college and work. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

Great info. Thanks. Cute dachshund hood ornament. Is it 3D printed? If so they do have metallic filament out there. What about the Cargo Kit info from last week was inaccurate? I’m very interested in getting it down the road, but not if I can’t access the cargo area/bed from the cabin (think...
