yes, always has in the past.
Ocean, Lucid, Rivian and F150 Lightning were all limited production and people did reserve to buy the first model year to flip them.
By sheer luck, I got the first year '22 Lightning 16 months earlier than the Mach E that I also ordered.
Ended up driving the...
Agree - I had the Lightning for 1 year and it was way too large for my urban lifestyle.
Lightning would not fit in my single garage, found tight parking spaces, terrible U turn radius, constant worry while in middle of Los Angeles bumper to bumper traffic, and I never towed nor hauled...
If you have solar, either get a Tesla battery for charging using the excess PV energy and then use a L2 charger to your Slate.
Otherwise use a portable battery pack like the EcoFlow that I have with 240V output and can be charged from home solar, home grid power, L2 public charger, or portable...
Exactly!
Common for EV newbies to worry about range - called range anxiety.
After 7 years of EV driving, I just refer to the % battery remaining just like fuel tank gauge.
I love being able to continue using the EV even if there was a grid down event where all gas stations would cease to pump...
😅
Not much - it's a small battery and you will be lucky to get 1.2kW charging from a L1 cord for an hour.
Should add around 3 - 4 miles of range on a single charge.
Better to just call Auto Club roadside assistance with EV charger they have on board to get L2 charge.
I have for the home a...
Scout's EREV will come with a 2L VW gas engine to recharge the HV battery.
No specs on the VW engine details nor tank size in the Scout yet.....
The issue with Scout's EREV is that the added ICE power plant will decrease the EV efficiency due to added weight of the engine and different battery...
Noticed my current EV used valuation has gone up, but not the amount I'd expect since ICE / Hybrids are still fetching more $$.
Remember, buying an EV usually means a very serious hit in depreciation the first year so don't compare numbers with an ICE/Hybrid.
EREVs as @zipn pointed out are excellent for larger vehicles that run primarily on EV and then use the gas generator to recharge / extend range as needed.
Depending on your driving needs and the cost of fuel vs electricity will be your best guide for an EV vs EREV.
Where I live in So Calif...
I do love that Glocks like a Slate are the easiest to upgrade for more features / benefits the regular owner can customize: lights, lasers, night sights, triggers, magazine capacities, interoperable caliber change frame, slide change, recoil control porting,, etc...
(Disclaimer: retired FFL...
If it's anything like Amazon style, I can see short term 0% financing like their current Amazon business invoicing (pay by invoice).
For long term, they will use other companies for financing or leasing banks as Amazon partners with: Chase Amazon Prime Visa and American Express Prime Business...
Yes, 168 seems excessive in that part of the state that's rural, very low population, and only has the major i5 freeway that people use.
In comparison the huge Baker, CA off the I15 to Vegas that has 96 older V2/V3 Superchargers that we non Teslas can't access....
The biggest change is that...
https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-massive-solar-supercharger-california/
This is great news for those that travel between Northern California and Southern California!
84 stalls are open now. 168 stalls will open at the end of 2025.
These Superchargers do not rely on the power grid and works off...
Not sure about the Slate for $27K when I could get an EV now till Sept 30 and capture the $7500 tax credit.
As a government worker and falling under the income cap, I deserve the tax credit.
Past 3 EVs, captured:
$4000 PHEV state rebate
$7500 Lightning EV credit
$3750 Mach E EV credit
$1200...
Last year when I visited Kona and Oahu, the public charging seemed very sparse (compared to So Calif).
Most were Tesla Superchargers in the Waikiki area.
Are there plans to get more charging stations on the islands ?
How is the NEVI funding going to affect the new Tritium stations ?
Yah, drove my wife crazy when we test drove a Honda Prologue - set to 1PD and made her nauseous with the lurching in traffic.
Sales person showed us how to turn it off and never to 2PD and it was a fantastic test drive.
Hoping the Slate will have on/off 1PD.
