I don't think you can just say "besides being electric." For me and many others, that is one of the primary draws.
Show me another compact electric pickup, let alone one at this suggested price, and I'm all ears! I've been wanting one for ages.
If you just take away one of the biggest aspects...
It seems relatively straight forward in my eyes. They've said the app will offer route planning as I recall. If in the app you route to a charger, it knows when it needs to begin preconditioning, right? No cellular is needed from the truck, that's all done through the phone.
For me it's Utility, Looks, Price/Value, Minimalist Design & Customization. So...sort of everything!
It's just about perfect for me. Keep It Stupid Simple. And affordable. And let me tinker with it and make it my own.
Can't wait to get to see it in Olympia!
Chevy used to offer this at the Bowling Green plant for Corvette's too. I believe you could "help" torque the heads on your motor, do a tour, and by the end, hop in and drive off with your Vette. Obviously for a price.
I think it's similar to the Polestar 2, funnily enough. If you look at the registration for one of those cars, it says:
Make: Polestar
Model: Polestar 2
So it's technically the Polestar Polestar 2.
Similarly, the Slate Truck could "technically" be the Slate Slate Truck when registered. Too...
I can see this little truck being a hit with old dudes. My grandpa drove an old Ranger forever. Seems like a great fit too, though I don't know how to market this little truck to old guys lol
I think its funny seeing people get all twisted up about the marketing strategies so far. I'll probably get some hate for this, but whatever.
None of us need to be marketed to. They've already snagged over 100K reservations. At this point, they can try to drum up appeal and demand with other...
I think you might be overestimating how many units need to sell to prop up an aftermarket community. There were less than 41,000 Pontiac GTOs made between 2004 and 2006, and there were (and still are) tons of aftermarket mods and parts for that car. Aftermarket companies will work to fill a...
"I'm tired of CA mandating that companies allow end users the ability to read diagnostic information from their own vehicle. Keep it proprietary and locked down, requiring people to go to a dealer to find out that their gas cap is loose on their ICE car."
I'm not too worried about the quality or resolution. The truck is small enough with clear body lines that backing up should be a non issue, especially coming from a Z71 Silverado with a canopy. Backup cameras, while nice, are a tool and not a crutch imo.
