I'm at the Newport event. Unfortunately there is no slate truck. There are 5 or 6 employees there though under a canopy on the main strip. I over heard them saying the truck wouldn't start so presumably it in the area and maybe they can tow it in
I've gotten a few shirts for myself and to give to others. I would buy more things but nothing really sparks my interest. They really should have 5 to 10 shirts to choose from covering men, women and kids
Hammets wharf in Newport RI is this weekend so I will probably go Saturday. God knows why they would show it there. Absolutely zero people in that town would be interested in it. I live there and that is not the place to show off a low budget item. At least I can walk there.
I put my reservation down hour one of day one but I don't think that will matter much. More than likely they will sell trucks based on location and popularity at first. It's the sensible thing to do. People nearer Warsaw will probably get a big advantage when it comes to buying. They will...
I don't think anyone officially has posted they have no cash and can't feed the employees and can only stuff them in ratty hotels. I'm sure they are budget conscience but they have a marketing budget and they need to get the word out if they want to have a chance to survive. You can do all...
Big car shows have everything. Manufacturers displaying new models, vendors, concept cars on occasion etc. I believe the numbers for the show this year are 8000 cars in the show and a couple hundred thousand visitors expected over the weekend.
It's not much money to enter a car. I'm sure...
I was in marketing for decades with some of the biggest companies in the world and with some tiny little companies. I know what Slate is trying to do, why they are doing and most likely who is doing it there and it's all wrong. They are trying to do the tech bros soft intro and try to build up...
They are messing with the events schedule again. Boston has been changed from weekend of the 18th to the week after which is a bummer because I don't have the time off to see it now.
They also removed the next few events after it where they actually posted a specific location.
Get on the ball...
Minimalist design. Minimalist features to be specific. I simply do not want to be staring at a massive touch screen all day at work and then again when I get into my car nor do I want added features I will never ever use but still have to pay for. Crank windows for the win.
It wouldn't surprise me in the least if the lift and lowering kits for the trucks were simple spacers so an easy diy job. Adding in all sorts of suspension changes goes against the slate principle so my money is on an easy spacer lift.
I redid my electric system just for the ability to run a lvl 2 charger but with the slate I may just stick to lvl 1. My planned commute with it is 40miles just 3x a week so the added expense of putting a bigger charger in probably isn't worth it. I plan on sticking with the base battery as well.
Saturn did this in Bowling green. You could pick them up at the plant if you wanted. Full factory tour and even a little celebration in your honor. I think they only did it for the first 10 years or so until they went mainstream and sunk the brand. A lot of people chose to pick their car up...
This. My family has been life long Subaru owners for nearly 4 decades. I have personally had probably a dozen of them. This year was the year I had to say goodbye to the brand. The touchscreen on the latest Crosstrek pushed us over the edge. It's massive and clunky and you have no actual...
For me buying a slate is more about simplicity than anything else. Yes cost is a factor but only a small one. Would I pay $40k for a stripped down one? Absolutely not. Keep it under $30k and we can talk, mostly because there aren't many options under that price. I would happily pay a small...
If your talking about the mass mor-ev rebate that is almost certainly going away as well. Too much talk in the state house about eliminating it if the fed does away with there's. I would imagine other states would follow suit even if they don't agree with it.
Does anyone know the format to these events? Are they supposed to be low key and mostly fit the people who reserved one since presumably we are the only ones that know about them? I'm going to the Boston one but it seems to me Slate is missing an opportunity by not attending the Syracuse...
I've just assumed they would have a 12v\5v power center in place in the dash already. If they are counting on people using phones and tablets and Bluetooth speakers for everything they would have to have added in the ability to charge them, including a standard 12v outlet. To do otherwise...
