lol Yes. That accumulation (if indeed it was not spread out throughout the season) would not be conducive to rear wheel drive mustangs, or slate trucks, regardless of tire setup.
Yes it’s true rear or front wheel drive vehicles can handle some “snow” with winter or winter-studded tires. But snowfalls of 6+ inches (which aren’t uncommon in Michigan with lake effect, or New York, or Ontario) are absolutely a challenge for any single axle drive vehicles.

Hmmm. When supercharging my model y in winter, I always precondition so the battery is warm enough to accept a fast charge, while at the same time heating the cabin because it’s cold out. In the summer, my battery needs to be cooled somewhat to protect it, not preheated to accept a charge...
And if it were cheap enough to justify its lack of ability, that would be one thing. But this “truck” still costs what a 3 year old regular cab 6.5 foot bed 1500 costs, but with drastically reduced capability. If you want to make a kei truck great, but then price it as a kei truck.
They don’t need to be the same. And this wouldn’t even be close to every other truck. It’s about a baseline of functionality that a modern unibody design pickup should have. It snows many places. Especially where this truck is being built. RWD means no forward momentum. Boats are made in...
Would be a strange circumstance to need to cool the battery while also heating the cabin. Typically the vehicle would be needing to heat both the battery and cabin for optimum charging ability in cold weather and keeping passengers warm, or cooling both passengers and battery in the heat.
No. Very unlike that. But for these high prices and low range, AWD and a higher payload should be available. This is not a cybertruck with an entirely new construction or expensive materials. This is plastic and composite on a skate deck.
Nobody is cross shopping a slate and a rivian. You are missing the point. A 2k tow package is not a challenge on a modern design unibody vehicle. They got lazy in the specs. Frankly it’s embarrassing.
No, slate missed the point of the vehicle. These are baseline benchmarks that should be hit very easily by any modern designed vehicle. 2k tow should be a no brainer for this wheelbase and unibody construction.
It’s bizarre to not have a heat pump when the truck allegedly comes with AC. the heat pump is just running the AC in reverse. Resistance heat seems like a huge misstep here
At minimum, every suv or truck needs dual motor. Non starter. Also, should be 2k tow with one motor, 3.5k tow with two. Especially at these prices. Incentives won’t be around forever.
Ground clearance? And I didn’t get any indication from the press release video, but did they explain why the dismal towing capacity? 1000lbs isn’t even a small boat and trailer, barely a motorcycle and trailer. I don’t see 2000lb as being difficult with this unibody construction. Also no AWD...
