I have zero worries about support. I frankly hate dealers and would never take a car to a dealer unless forced to.
As long as they publish their specs, people out there will make parts.
within a year there will be used slates on the market. If the slate is 25K then used it will probably end up at 12-15K (based on depreciation of EVs)
compare used slates to used other EVs
wanted to lease an equinox BEV before the fed incentive ended. According to the chevy website based on the dealers listed price and all my discounts I should have been able to get a 2 year, 10K mile lease with zero down for under 200/month.
the dealer wouldnt honor that price, they wanted to...
what is less and how much will it cost to get to parity?
electric window addon will prob be about $100, an infotainment and speakers is prob $200.
So mentally just add $300 and now compare against the maverick.
second iteration will 100% be AWD.
I agree that a second vehicle could be a van, I would want EREV though. A generator that charges the battery while you drive.
this is why you are a troll. You are literally picking the market segment that they have left out as their target audience:

In motorcycles maybe the battery is easily accessible so you will just do a battery swap, not a charge. Still may not be enough range, so stick to gas.
Thats not how risk works.
That is like saying power door locks and windows are not safe and shouldnt be used because sometimes they fail when a car gets immersed so the people die
Risk calculations are constantly done and there is often an element of risk in everything

i need a truck form factor (dont care about towing).
Prefer a 5.5 ft bed. 5 ft is ok.
Under about 73 inches wide
under 200 inches long
EV
4wd
4 door
2 rows of seats
under 30K
The new ford EV platform could be it.
i want self driving but in a van type vehicle that I can take the family on road trips. When Im driving around town I dont need self driving as the trips are short. My ideal road trip car is a minivan style car with tesla self driving and EREV.
Until then I want the cheapest EV truck possible.
but arent flat towable and cant be used as a pickup truck.
I do agree that the SUV option doesnt make nearly as much sense as the truck option. Id probably rather hook up a trailer to an equinox than take the shell off the SUV to turn it into the truck for infrequent hauling events.
However if...
My son is 13 and my youngest daughter is 10. I love the idea of them only being able to take 1 passenger as per the law in texas for under 18 drivers (unlike my oldest who for sure breaks that law on a regular basis).
For myself I want a truck that doesnt take up so much room in the garage and...
