I am assuming that conversion will be tied to delivery. Thatās how we will find out which regions will be delivered first.
Now for the deposit. Yes it will likely be a nonrefundable deposit. That is in line with current OEM dealers today. Most likely in the $500-$1,000 range.
I wonder if they will use the same logic for conversion invites as they are planning for delivery. If they do we should know where our early reservations may stand as compared to actual delivery.
That is an early reservation holder (in the first three hour here) and in the āRegionā selected for early deliveries. Slate Auto has not indicated how the Regions will be designated.
@AZFox
Not sure how much effort it might take to swap a battery industry the Slate, but we have a Lightning forum member that did his own SR to ER battery swap in a Lightning and found that it required ZERO hardware or software changes.
Im hopeful something like would be possible with the Slate.
I sure hope so based on the speed of change occurring in the battery industry.
The Electric Viking, a highly followed EV industry influencer has just released this piece discussing a new announcement surrounding Solid State Battery technology.
I have found him to be very well informed.
If itās wrapped with a PPF and Vinyl, it will be scratch resistant and is self healing with heat. Thatās not to say itās scratch proof, but it takes a pretty good effort to scratch it beyond repair.
Slates $500 wrap quote is for the material. It certainly wonāt cover the application for sure. However, from what Iāve seen if they farm out the application, it will cost less than $3,000.
Personally, this 70 year old is looking forward to a good do it yourself project next year. š
First I āve never heard of an option to have it painted. Iām guessing their assuming a buyer my elect to have it painted. Not a Slate Auto direct option.
One of the question I ask the CEO was about early reservations and when an early day one reservation might be delivered. Below is the response I just received:
Hi Dean,
Thanks so much for submitting your question for our CEO Fireside Q&A. My name is Alysa, and I am part of the Slate team...
