I saw this Car Wrap Calculator website I thought was interesting, for a comparison to Slate's wrap price. You can adjust a lot of settings for an estimate. I got about $800 for material and about $700 for installation. I set everything I thought would be comparable to wrapping a Slate...
Does the 12 volt battery only get charged by the big battery, or does it also get a trickle charge when the EV is plugged in? If you leave a radio or lights on when not plugged in, will that run down both the low and high voltage batteries over time? I have heard stories of Lucid cars that are...
Slate's website only shows the level 1, 120 volt plug, but is also says level 2 cord is also included.

I'm thinking it might have 2 different ends but just one cord, like this one on Amazon. Either that or they never corrected the error. We talked about this...
When did you reserve a Slate? Early 2027 is the earliest it will be available if you reserved one last April. They got something like 150,000 reservations in two weeks. Good luck.
That is their plan. They are reworking a factory just for a new electric platform that will have a 4 door pickup body first, then later SUV. I think it is suppose to be out in late 2027. It will be bigger than the Maverick...
The cheapest comparable to a pickup or SUV is going to be $45,000+, and you will still have to pay taxes, destination fees, and other dealer costs on whatever you buy. If you want all the features, they are $75,000+. Not everyone was able to get the $7,500 tax credit.
That's why I'm here.
Isn't the center brake light usually on the roof? If you put the tailgate down, people can't see it. Also if you get the rear mount tire, you can't see it (unless it is on the center of the spare, which I couldn't see in the picture).
I usually read this forum on a tablet, and I can see even...
Yes it opens the Slate commercial with the smelly hockey bag. I think they are still in the design stage on the slant back top. Not many pictures of it. That is the one I wanted, without back seats and roll bar. I might have to go aftermarket, Leer makes tops to fit almost every truck.
Are you talking about the slant back SUV? I have tried to find a picture of that one with the glass open, and have not seen one. It should open, but I don't see how it's hinged. It might open the same as the other one. The other style uses the same window as the pickup, but the slant back shows...
What I notice is the Amazon Auto prices are less than 5% below MSRP. These were all Hyundai vehicles from one dealer, but I wonder if you could get a better price straight from the dealer. Cut out the Amazon fees. Hopefully it will be different if we will be able to buy a Slate on Amazon, a set...
It wouldn't replace the Sonata which we use for long drives and travel. We can pack the trunk full on that, travel, and get about 33 mpg. Most of my daily driving is less than 60 miles a day.
For me it would be to replace a 14 year old Tundra which I rarely drive since it only gets about 16 mpg. I still need to haul yard waste, mulch, and garbage since we don't have trash pickup. My farthest trip I would need it for is about a 60 mile round trip. I don't need a 6 foot bed. We take a...
