  1. Doug Demuro has been trying (whining)

I had to look up the video of his from 11 months ago. Don’t think he’ll be impartial on the Slate. In his mind, it’s already a failure. And he already thinks Slate is ā€œlateā€ giving him a prototype to ā€œpreviewā€. Let him stew until a production ready unit is available to review.
  2. Articles and Videos of Interest That Don't Merit Their Own Threads

From The Drive Dodge CEO Asks ā€˜Do You Need a Radio’ in ā€˜Back-to-Basics’ Quest for Entry-Level Cars https://www.thedrive.com/news/dodge-ceo-asks-do-you-need-a-radio-in-back-to-basics-quest-for-entry-level-cars Dodge CEO Matt McAlear - ā€œI think the biggest thing that we need to start doing is...
  3. Articles and Videos of Interest That Don't Merit Their Own Threads

Yes! They didn’t have to answer that question. It boggles my mind, especially if they had Jay Leno already lined up. I don’t really see Demuro propping up prototypes and prefer his takes on newly released and old vehicles.
  4. Articles and Videos of Interest That Don't Merit Their Own Threads

I feel like giving a Slate that's not a production unit will be a disservice to Slate and his audience. Considering Doug wants to "review" and not "preview" it. He's already got a hard on for bashing Slate. Wouldn't mind him getting a final version and bash it then, if that means getting one of...
  5. Slate Truck vs. Extreme Cold, Snow, Ice (Testing by Engineers) - Documentary Video

I looked it over again and someone pointed it out in another forum. Left is the symbol lights for the Slate. Right is likely just the drive modes. Center is the baby display we know and not sure if we love. Hard to see but makes complete sense. Had too much copium that it’d be a bigger...
  6. Slate Truck vs. Extreme Cold, Snow, Ice (Testing by Engineers) - Documentary Video

Seems like a bigger dash display from what we usually see. Compared it with the Slate configurator and a video from YouTuber RegularCars of the dash from 4 months ago.
  7. What will Slate's Accessories Marketplace Portal be like?

I feel like this will be in the cards. Slate focuses on a few items core items and fun items. And tie in Amazon for the rest. They have partnerships with Hyundai and expanded to used cars (Hertz among one). And work with Ford for certified cars. I don’t see this to be a stretch for Amazon to...
  8. Slate Website / Configurator Update + New Accessories and Parts

Saw this Ad on YouTube showing off the ā€œoptionsā€ for center glovebox area with phone, speaker, tablets; like a pizza. Can see these on the configurator of Slate already, but interesting to see the ad showing potential of options. For now, good to keep it simple in the Ad. For later, get me...
  9. Slate full teardown after 160K miles

These videos aren’t for us, haha. It’s a marketing video for the youths and the folks who may be interested but not sure if a startup truck can last. Slate wants to assure folks that their truck can last for miles. At least that’s what they want to portray. Crowds like us need more than ā€œšŸ’Ŗā€...
  10. Slate full teardown after 160K miles

Generally, don’t have an idea what I am looking at. But I decided to take screenshots of the sped up video of the teardown. Cool to see the frame of the truck at the very end of the video. They took apart the front and back.
  11. Slate full teardown after 160K miles

Correct, I think Eric from Slate said it he was one of their first contacts.
  12. Slate full teardown after 160K miles

It’s a short released by Slate - Post 160k Mile Teardown Video description states ā€œ160k simulated miles.ā€ I’d like to get my hands on a Slate
  13. Coffe shop event showing video

This seems to me an old video of the Motoring Coffee shop from months ago, back in August. The video doesn’t show the truck until 5:23, but it’s more of his thoughts on the truck and the old website. Maybe it took a while for the YouTuber to edit and upload the video...
  14. Slate Website / Configurator Update + New Accessories and Parts

My thought was, going by what Slate mentioned about repair, wraps and accessories. have Slate focus on the safety accessories in house. But leave the fun stuff to other companies and manufactures. Slate is working with a wrap company for wraps and install. Slate is working with a repair...
  15. Slate Website / Configurator Update + New Accessories and Parts

I like the layout much better, but it’s not mobile oriented so was hard to navigate. Could still use some work but leagues better than before. For the audio, I think Slate should go no more than a DIN or Double DIN option and have the users have at it, with decent wiring and power options.
  16. Slate Hires New CEO Peter Faricy. Ex-CEO Chris Barman appointed new role

Was wondering too, means we have some control of locking and unlocking from app if we want to, but seems like they aren’t pushing the apps. Will be interesting to see usage and collection options for telemetrics with and without app.
  17. Slate Hires New CEO Peter Faricy. Ex-CEO Chris Barman appointed new role

Emailed Slate about the key and if it’ll have keys in the fob. They responded quickly. Seems like it’ll include two ā€œmanual keysā€. Still doesn’t answer if the keys are built into the fob or if I’ll be carrying a manual key as well. Would prefer the ā€œmanual keyā€ or emergency key to be built into...
  18. Slate Website / Configurator Update + New Accessories and Parts

Yes, the CA tax is winning. it’s got me thinking of DIY and 1-2 year used Slate. But will have to see this June. Hopefully some surprise and delight feelings
  19. Slate Website / Configurator Update + New Accessories and Parts

Yeah, I had my basic pulled out of you know where numbers back in July last year on the items I might want, and am hoping it comes in lower than I expected or go used/3rd party or DIY make my own. My thought at the time was get the base with extended battery and fastback with seats first. That...
  20. Slate Hires New CEO Peter Faricy. Ex-CEO Chris Barman appointed new role

I was thinking I’d rather have a bladed key to be able to get in the car than the accessory hex bit they were showing that would be built in to the key fob. I’d rather have the safety of a physical key to be able to open the doors and the lift gate. If the target is DIY’ers and makers, more...
