Does anyone else find it mildly amusing that the starting price of the Slate Hat is in the mid-twenties. ;).
And it is also one size fits all, just like the Slate.
If the OP is still serious regarding the free hat offer (I like free); here are my predictions come June 24:
Base Pickup...
The way I see it, the pivot to LFP chemistry on the base pickup is a strategic, last minute decision that can get the starting price below $25k. There is something “magical “ about an MSRP starting with $24,xxx. Everything we have seen, heard, and read indicates that the final production...
Mistake? Perhaps they are just rehashing the Detroit Free Press story, but here is another article from EVshift confirming the LFP battery on the standard range pickup.
Slate CEO dishes new details on company’s ‘mid-$20s’ EV pickup
Well it appears the news just leaked out in the base battery:
Slate CEO dishes new details on company’s 'mid-$20s' EV pickup
The base pickup is a two-door, rear-wheel-drive truck with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. LFP batteries are less expensive and more durable than the more common...
Confirmed! Here‘s the excerpt:
The base pickup is a two-door, rear-wheel-drive truck with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. LFP batteries are less expensive and more durable than the more common lithium ion batteries. The downside is that they don't have as much range. Slate promised a...
From these examples, it seems to make better financial sense to invest in a new, low maintenance vehicle like Slate than to plunk down more cash on a 10–15-year-old vehicle just to keep it running.
My biggest concern is, "ok I'll fix it this time," just to have something else fail a few...
On closer inspection of those pallets I agree. They could also be used as an alignment tool if some sort. There are no visible lifting eyes so they probably have forklift pockets or channels down below.
At this point I would say it’s already in the works. Basically, the larger tablet would clone the display as we’ve seen in Slate’s media, but better positioned in your line of sight.
And I agree, trying to view the navigation map on your docked phone screen might be a challenge. I know the...
Agreed. What I find even more intriguing is that Slate tallied up an astonishing 100,000 reservations in the first two weeks of the initial reveal. Fast forward 13 months, and then combined with all the internet buzz; Facebook groups; this excellent slateforums.com platform 👍; extensive media...
Although not confirmed, those heavy looking pallets are likely to be staged battery pack components, as the orange color typically denotes high voltage. In addition, all HV harnesses used on EV's are orange so that First Responders are aware to stay clear of any lines that need to be cut if...
Not an algorithm. Sponsored ads means that Ford paid Google tons of advertising money to appear at the top of the search results, in hopes that those searching for a Slate will be diverted and become more enamored with the Ford EV.
The robotic welding cell appears operational in limited capacity on the production floor. But the video cuts back to a secondary prototype shop where there is still a lot of hand assembly and production tooling prove-out taking place. At this stage, it appears automation and material handling...
Yes, and in fact when the Cybertruck first came out I recall that Tesla stated that buyers could not resell their Cybertrucks within the first year of ownership. If someone violated that rule, Tesla reserved the right to seek damages from the profit made, and / or block future orders from that...
