8 seconds seems fast enough. I'm in a Jeep Gladiator and stock they get somewhere around 7.5-8.5. I have 35s on mine, so I'm sure that I'm a bit slower. I've never been concerned about merging on the highway and it's way faster than my older Wranglers.

If there's a Slate there, I'd come and take a look.

I went with over $27k, because I'm thinking $27,499. It lines up with the under $20k when there was still a tax credit. It is also still mid-20s if you define mid-20s as $22,501 to $27,499.

Personally, I think that the gas tax should be dumped in favor of a VMT/weight based tax. Take the miles traveled per year and multiply it by some weight based factor. This would be the most equitable way to pay for our roads.

I suspect that would be an aftermarket solution like Jeeps.

The Gladiator system is stupid simple. It's just a couple of hooks that shorten the cable. Fits right in with the Slate KISS principal...I can't imagine they would miss that opportunity.

The plan is to get a campervan for future road trips and the Slate would be my around town commuter. If I don't get a Slate, I'll likely just get another 2-door Wrangler for bopping around town and the occasional trip to Moab/Sedona.

You can place a reservation ($100) for the bike on the Verge website with an estimated delivery of Q1 2026. Since that is within the next few months, they better have a product to deliver shortly. I can't imagine that these are imaginary at this point.
