  1. Electric Windows Configuration.

I know. I meant it kind of tongue-in-cheek, but that doesn't translate well in text. 😉
  2. Electric Windows Configuration.

Accidents only happen to drunks, and people who drive poorly.
  3. Fiat Topolino EV - ferocious competition

Oh, hell no. I couldn't drive that with a straight face. I also think I would die in a crash. What if my friends see it? 🤣 Nah, double-down on Slate.
  4. Anyone else burned out on all the Slate Videos?

Everyone wants to talk about the Slate, because everyone knows what a big deal it is, but Slate HQ is the only source of actual information, so almost everything is just talking about what's already been announced. There's just no ongoing communication of information, which is hard for people...
  5. Aftermarket Lift Kit available for Slate (by EVSportline)

I understand your scepticism , but I doubt there's anything nefarious going on. They just want to put their offering forward ASAP, to generate awareness in the community, and since we're talking about them, it's had the desired effect. I presume this is a very early rough concept, to be fine...
  6. Preordered and now having second thoughts...anyone else?

I wanna point out that a wrap is fun, but entire optional. It doesn't NEED a fun color, which is a deliberate choice by Slate. There's a really good chance that my Slate will never get wrapped. If I do wrap it, that will be a fun upgrade, not necessary equipment. The same is true of pretty...
  7. Preordered and now having second thoughts...anyone else?

Totally agree, and the reality is that there's huge added value in the fact that this will have all the required safety equipment (and engineering knowledge) that has been gained in the past 30 years. It's also got the simplicity of an EV, and a manufacturer who welcomes DIY and repair, where...
  8. Factory Perforated Seat Covers + Ventilated and Heated Seats?

This is the way. Though I'm tempted to buy EVERY accessory Slate offers, I think it would be a lot smarter to choose just a few that really matter to me, and see if I can live with less. That tracks with my overall goals of getting a Slate. I only want to pay for what I will actually use in a...
  9. Coolant and Brake Fluid Type

Totally agree. I'm very excited to do mods and upgrades-That's the fun part! There are very few car people who look forward to the routine maintenance. Almost nobody wakes up excited to change the oil in an ICE.
  10. Slate factory up and running - photos & video (A New Day in Warsaw)!! 👷‍♂️🎬

Anytime a new product is launched there's a long learning curve of refining production. The first batch of any new product is usually R&D samples. (Usually tax-deductible in US.) You fine tune your designs to optimize producibity and efficiency, while ensuring quality meets tolerable standards...
  11. Suspension Poll: Lifted, Lowered, or Standard Height?

I expect to probably lift my truck a bit, unless it's prohibitively expensive. To me, it looks more rugged and fun.
  12. Privacy Article: Slate says your truck will never track you!

I would like to add my vote to help tip the scales. The absence of tattle-tale data is one of the largest factors for why I want a Slate. Take that away, and engage in the same subscription crap that other automakers are doing, and my love affair is over. I want to be able to love, work on...
  13. Regeneration Paddle?

For ICE drivers, like myself, I expect that will take some getting used to. Definitely not a problem, just something to be aware of.
  14. Which came first Bronco Sport or Slate?

Lol. My dad had one of those. It was truly a POS.
  15. Preorder questions? We can help! (email June 1)

If I'm totally honest, the release and the delivery of my new Slate is giving me something to really look forward to, like the thought of going on a vacation, or a long-promised reward. In my mind, it's kind of a feature, not a glitch. I'm also really looking forward to getting more tangible...
  16. Preorder questions? We can help! (email June 1)

You're exactly right, here. There's a good deal of psychology in much of Slate's approach, and TBH I'm not put off by it. It's not terribly manipulative, just guidance to get this product to market, as favorably as possible.
  17. Preorder questions? We can help! (email June 1)

I think this is the beauty of the BLANK Slate. They're just gonna make them all the same. They can be reassigned and distributed at the most advantageous time/method.
  18. Rooftop Solar Charging

I see your point, but I don't have property where I can set up a solar panel. I only have access to the parking space I temporarily occupy. THAT'S why I would carry around the solar rig. Also, for camping, and other off-grid situations.
  19. Rooftop Solar Charging

If I could get a polished solution like this, I'd probably HAVE to get one. I want a hard-sided tonneau cover, anyway, so it's a big win to have that serve a dual purpose for harvesting power.
