  1. Phone or Tablet as your interface device?

You have a good point. Maybe get a tablet with cellular? I know with Tesla you have to pay monthly for cellular access. It may be around the same price for a Tablet with cellular access. If not it can't be much more.
  2. Phone or Tablet as your interface device?

Wow! Slate is 1/4 the price of the Rivian with a radio and carplay and double the miles. I'm not complaining. I'll take the one that uses my phone for a screen.
  3. Charging Stations Are An Issue In Many Cities

What's with all of the hate! All I said is we need more EV Charging stations where I live, and I get a bunch of hooligans making smart mouth comments. Geeze people!!! Take a nap already! I'm done.
  4. Charging Stations Are An Issue In Many Cities

Thank you for sharing. I’m glad to know this.
  5. Charging Stations Are An Issue In Many Cities

All I'm saying is, if you have several chargers in and around your area then charging isn't something I'd worry about. But when you are new to EV's and the Battery Percentage drops much faster below 20 percent (depending on your speed) you will get nervous about making it to the charger when...
  6. Charging Stations Are An Issue In Many Cities

Well, I've never run out of gas. I've had plenty of gas stations to choose from. Big difference between gas and EV charging stations. I didn't run out of battery either. I did get pretty nervous when the battery percentage was down to 6% though. You'll get educated when you get an EV...
  7. Charging Stations Are An Issue In Many Cities

Right! Tesla does tell you where the charging stations are but where I live they are 45 miles or more apart. Then if you are running around busy trying to wait as long as you can, trying not to go out of your way more than once, you finally get there on a dead battery. I love the EV's. But...
  8. Charging Stations Are An Issue In Many Cities

Have you ever had an EV? Special conditions have to be met to get the max range. You have to drive slow and no hills. Mine wasn’t quite 300 miles. Any way, you might get the max range if you are going downhill all the way and stay around 55mph. You’ll find out when you get one.
  9. Charging Stations Are An Issue In Many Cities

I'm really wanting a Slate truck but after having a Tesla Model Y with the long range I'm worried about paying this much for an EV just to use locally. I rode around all day one day in the Tesla and decided to go to Tupelo and shop there. Before I got to Tupelo I was worried about the battery...
  10. Article: "Ford’s $30K Electric Pickup Could Crush Jeff Bezos-Backed Rival"

I believe Slate will do well as long as they keep the price low. I'm talking $20k. Many will buy it, even if it's plain and nothing fancy, just for the low-price. My only worry is that if the larger battery jacks up the price too much I'll settle for a used Tesla with all the features. Even...
  11. 2008 Ford Ranger vs Slate

I'm not worried about the quality of the Slate Truck, I believe they are using quality parts and motors and batteries. It's the business side that worries me. If they go bankrupt after a few years; where do we get parts or a new battery years later? Of course they won't go out of business if...
  12. Regen braking non adjustable ? Deal breaker for me.

What's so good about having an adjustable Regen Braking? I want it to stop when I let off so I don't wear out brakes.
  13. Slate Extended Range Battery - Price?

It may be, but I still like the plain truck that I can work on myself. I will just have to wait and see what the Slate Truck is priced at with the extended battery. If the Slate's price is just as much with nothing but an extended battery I'll probably choose another vehicle.
  14. Slate Extended Range Battery - Price?

2026 Nissan Leaf has 300 mile range and it is loaded with many extras for $30,000. I'm confused how a non-painted small truck can cost more with nothing extra and only go half the mileage range.
  15. Slate Extended Range Battery - Price?

Not Good! My charging stations are few and far between in North MS.
  16. Slate Extended Range Battery - Price?

I hope the "Extended Range Battery" isn't thousands more than the standard range battery in the Slate Truck. 150 mile range just isn't going to suit me. I want more miles.
  17. NEMA 14-60R outlet

Does Slate truck come with a plug for a 60 amp outlet NEMA 14-60R? Or do I have to use a 50 amp outlet NEMA 14-50? The 50 amp plug is different from the 60 amp plug. But it says it can be charged with a 60 amp plug at home.
  18. NMC -vs- LFP Batteries

I don't have an ev yet. I do want one. I've used the charger location app https://abetterrouteplanner.com/ recommended by philauex. On hwy 45 north from Tupelo I've seen 2 places to charge(1 hour and 20mn apart). On hwy 25 north from Amory, I've seen 0 places to charge. If there are more...
  19. NMC -vs- LFP Batteries

Can you show me the charging spots on a map? I don't see many.
  20. NMC -vs- LFP Batteries

Charging at home is fine. It’s the road trips up hwy 25 that worries me. There are no chargers along that highway from Amory, MS North to TN. Does the Slate come with a 240v plug for home? What about a 240v wall outlet?
