  1. Ford Fathom EV Pickup ($28,350 Starting Price) - News & Info

Hey Doc! You can add an electric window (or two) on your Slate. It's one of the options.
  2. Ford Fathom EV Pickup ($28,350 Starting Price) - News & Info

I disagree. Slate was originally intended to be the simple, 2-door truck with a bed. I can't fathom why people would want all of these extra bells and whistles. But then again, that ability to do whatever you want with your vehicle is what makes the Slate great.
  3. Ford Fathom EV Pickup ($28,350 Starting Price) - News & Info

BlueCruise requires an always-on camera pointed at your face. Pair that with the always-on internet connection of all Ford vehicles for an "absolutely not" from me. I will give you that Blind Spot monitoring is good, but I will survive without them with my patented "crane my neck" maneuver.
  4. Video - How Slate driver seat fits heights from 6'5" to 5'5"

I haven't seen a vehicle with subs facing the driver directly. That might be a new way to create tinnitus!
  5. NHTSA’s ‘Kill Switch’ Law - Will It Affect Slate In The Future?

Blood Alcohol Content is a scourge of safe driving, of course. I would wager that a significant amount of accidents are caused by some other type of chemical distraction, such an inhaled, injected, or ingested method, whether that chemical is legal or not. There are plenty of [insert person...
  6. Large glovebox capacity size demo: Less Tech Stuff = More Room For Stuff

Yeah.....but how many Dachshunds can we fit in there?
  7. What big answers are we waiting for?

When specifically can I get the 100% accurate 3d files for modeling and printing? I sincerely appreciate all of the work done by my fellow Slate Forum junkies, but I want the scaled version from Slate for the overall truck. I will be able to plan my own upgrades from there. After that, I want...
  8. You can now choose your delivery date window! 🪟

I have to admit that I am in that boat. I have my pre-order and my delivery window. But I want to touch the truck first before I commit further.
  9. Poll: Slate's second model - what do you think it will be?

I am not the first to state this, but I will agree that a small, 2 door sporty EV would be awesome. This would be a fun vehicle. There would be a frunk and a trunk, but a heavy battery slung low and a decent acceleration. Nothing face-melting, but super fun. The Miata, but a smidge bigger to...
  10. Tailgate Embossed "SLATE" Branding - Poll

I frequently love the "stormtrooper" look on other cars, and I was NEVER a fan of white vehicles until I saw them with matte black accents.
  11. AC / Heater size & strength

The F-150 Lightning A/C will take 30+ minutes to cool the cabin down while driving in 90(F) / 30 (C) weather. When on long road trips, it will actually freeze up after about 90 minutes of use, requiring you to turn it completely off to thaw it out and then back on after about 10 minutes. It is...
  12. AC / Heater size & strength

Even worse - new cars have their AC wired through the infotainment center so that it automatically lowers your fan speed when talking on your hands-free bluetooth connection so that you can more clearly hear the person you are speaking with. Yea.......no thanks. Just blast the AC until frost...
  13. Tailgate Embossed "SLATE" Branding - Poll

I confirmed with Slate directly that it is now embossed - it is not vinyl.
  14. Why do people think this truck is TINY?

The issue isn't that the Slate is small. The issue is that the absolute majority of trucks on the road that can be compared to right now are wasted space (i.e. hot air) ballooned around a basic frame and engine. These big manufacturers make the trucks look bigger and bigger and bigger. Take a...
  15. How times change..

Hand crank windows can't trap you in a car in an accident, presuming your are conscious enough to attempt to exit the vehicle.
  16. Would real mechanics buy the Slate Truck? 3 mechanics comment

I want my phone to have a 3.5mm jack. I want my phone to have a replaceable battery. I want my phone to be a "right to repair" titan. I want the same from my vehicle.
  17. Preordered and now having second thoughts...anyone else?

You and I both have a Lightning, so you and I both know what that "baggage" from Ford entails. I don't want any more of the bugs features offered by them.
  18. Things we'd like to see offered over time

I'm like you in this regard - I am hoping that I can cleanly replace this panel - I want it to be a full incognito truck, just for the fun of it.
  19. Things we'd like to see offered over time

@Adam W , @AZFox , @Kopsis , @slate808 , @Moe , @kvermeer , @EV Trek I just set up a chat with one of Slate's representatives (shout out to Katelyn), and she confirmed that the original pre-production units were smooth, but the newer pre-production units have raised (embossed) lettering on the...
