Ford Fathom EV Pickup ($28,350 Starting Price) - News & Info

For most buyers, I think you are right. But for a few others, and potential Slate (SUV) buyers are after all something of a minority, those baby SUV cars are just not attractive. My Cherokee Trailhawk is an example. In 4wd Jeep mode it is a real SUV, capable of lots of off-roading, but in...

    Slate Ambassadors

@ Jimmy- Is that Space Ghost? @ Monte- There are so many little things Slate could offer that don't cost any money, Slatelets not available to anyone but ambassadors, for instance. Decals and badges.

    Slate Ambassadors

And I was going to move to Maui just for the Hawaiian Ambassador gig. Now I'll have to move back to Atlanta for that hook-up. I'm pretty sure Slate doesn't care about Southeast Georgia. (Nobody does, including the rest of Georgia.) Nah. I'll just be the only one riding around beach town in a...

Dear Slate, please add the white grill to configurator

Not me! I don't even like the plastic-dip surface appearance. I just use it for a good grip on hand tools! If the plain gray Slate had any more flat dull matte surfaces on it, it would look like a rat rod.

Excellent information! Not my experience at all, such as plastic-dip on wooden tool handles, but maybe a better comparison: metal wheels / plastic body panels. Anyone have any experience with plastic-dip on plastic? We are all ears.

That's the beauty of Sherwin Williams White. It IS TOTALLY white. Frigidaire refrigerator white. Ford van / work truck white. Bronco grill white. Kodak white card white. Not one of a million kinda sorta semi- white's. CMYK 0000. WHITE.

Dear Slate - you need to show these things before I'll buy

I am so with Frozen North on this. I am sick of modern ICE autos and ready to move on to EVs. But I still have my fun old motorcars, gasoline alley and grease monkey and all that jazz. He put it so appropriately, like keeping horses for the fun of it, not for everyday transportation.

Things we'd like to see offered over time

Sorry to disappoint. I also would LOVE a bench seat option, but since Slate said NO WAY NOT NOW, I sort of gave up on it as a first (or second) year option. So if that is all you were hoping for, quit reading. Others here have a variety of things we're just kicking around, mostly for the fun of...

Dear Slate, please add the white grill to configurator

Maybe too well. The down-side to plastic-dip is that you can never get it off. And you can never cover it up. So be very sure you want to keep something that texture and color before you go that way. If so, it's great!

Anyone thinking about painting their truck?

Turtlewax used to make a Bug and Tar Remover (my wife calls it bug and shit remover) that did a good job. I don't have any pine trees over the driveway now, so I can't swear it's still great.

Artificial Stupidity. It's like, if your dog spoke English, AI is what a conversation with Fido would sound like. I'm not talking about Claude and Skywatch, which are busy doing re-writes on Ulysses and the Theory of General Relativity, but the Gimminy and Chump consumer level stuff we get from...

Dear Slate, please add the white grill to configurator

If someone anyone ever actually sells it, I will be there to buy one. Ford and Jeep make a mint off over-priced "Heritage" versions of the Bronco and Wrangler, bought for the old-style "look" but with substantial high-dollar packages added to inflate the price. Slate could so easily offer a...

Slate's Ultimate Target Customers (and Initial Marketing)

Some of us mostly want electric, but getting a truck or 2-door SUV makes it way more interesting than a compact car.

Slate Auto AI Custom Wrap Generation Tool (Preview)

They already have the drawings for all the panels on the truck. It shouldn't take rocket science to transfer artwork from an ai 3d image to the pieces of wrap that fit those panels.

    Floormats / CocoMats

I remember Cocomats from 50+ years ago, when they were available in a single color, ready-made for lots of foreign sportscars, like my MGB. GREAT mats. And you can hose them down, so they would be an excellent addition to a rubber- or vinyl-covered cab floor. I will certainly go that way.

White Slate towing U-Haul trailer (hot weather testing photos)! Mater's had a rough life .

The majority of my family has lived in Florida most of my life. Only once did we have a car that was not white, and that had a white top.

White Slate towing U-Haul trailer (hot weather testing photos)! Mater's had a rough life .

Full body refrigerator white does remind me of all the work trucks I have driven or ridden in. As do the wind-up windows and cloth upholstery. Just missing the bench seat, AM radio and three-on-the-tree. Oh yeah, none had A/C, just heat. My 1997 Dakota (the in-between mid-size model, not the...

What big answers are we waiting for?

Many thanks for the clarification. I did wonder why you used such cute memes and if you were just being a bit extreme in sarcasm rather than really upset. Less personal is always preferable with someone you don't know. It's hard to detect tone of voice in a written note. Good to know you better...

Payment Estimator Added to Slate Site

Of course, that kit is not even listed, much less with a price. I trust that Jeremy will get with the maker people someday and do some updates. <sarcasm> Kind of hard to get excited about a payment estimator when half the accessories I might want are not priced, much less with an installation...
