Poll: Does the release of Fathom price and info affect your Slate decision?

Chilton’s? WOW that really pushed some cobwebs to the side in the grey matter. That would be neat having DIY manuals like the old Chiltons — don’t ever see Ford doing that but Slate? Maybe

Poll: Does the release of Fathom price and info affect your Slate decision?

Blank Slate sittin’ in my driveway for around no more than 28k or a tricked out Fathom sittinā€˜ in my driveway for more than 42k? Oh darn, uh, geeeez this is hard, uh — I guess I’ll just stick with the Slate, DUH. Hidden advantage of not having to put up with buying through a dealer and all the...

Ford Fathom EV Pickup ($28,350 Starting Price) - News & Info

Just another example of how screwed up EV dev is among major US automakers. Me: I don’t want/need four doors. Ford: why yes you do! Me: I don’t want screens and telemetry. Ford: Of course you do! Me: I don’t want a tech heavy around town vehicle. Ford: now now! You certainly want BlueCruise to...

    Ads in your vehicle

This is why GM ditched CarPlay and I ditched GM. I want to buy a product not pay to be a product. Of course that doesn’t mean Apple will forever keep ads off CarPlay but they at least give me a modicum of control over privacy. Slate is refreshing both in its elemental tech and being just a product.

Anyone wondering about the Connecticut rebate?

I’m in CT and considering the hoops CT made me jump through to buy and title my Lucid (bought 2/25 finally titled 9/25 after completing the important step of ā€˜verification of the VIN’ at 1 of 2 special inspection centers in the state) the dealership cabal has this state sewed up. Not holding my...

Carvana May not be in the Picture for Slate After All

Brings to mind all the prognosticators, including The Wall Street Journal, that claimed over and over again that Apple was dead as a doornail in the 80’s, 90’s, and early 00’s. The financial wizards of the Chicken Little School of Biz (CLSB for short).

Thinking of not ordering any accessories.

šŸ¤” let's see either a $1,000 Tonneau from Slate (the least expensive tri-fold) or a MostPlus $143 roll-up Tonneau through Amazon. Decisions decisions! Blank Slate and then see how the 3rd party products play out. Plus, really need to get the vehicle in hand to see how adaptable updating will be...

Lift and Bigger Tires Impact on Battery Range

Tonneau cover will recover some range through less CD (I'll probably 3rd party one), even the smallish rear view mirrors work better than larger optional ones as anything sticking out tends to corrupt air flow and causes less range so anything that smooths air flow works for me.

Lift and Bigger Tires Impact on Battery Range

here's an idea from my Lucid -- Touring with 19" range 420 miles, 22" 380 miles. So you're going to lose range with larger tires, don't know about lift

From TheDrive.com - Ford’s CEO Doesn’t Want You Fixing Your New Bronco. He Says It’s About Safety

The Slate is a simple vehicle and is built to be as simple as a modern EV can be. All service on the vehicle supposedly can be done by the customer and if the task seems daunting there's Slate U. However, I'm never ever gonna mess with BMS/high voltage battery pack. Something goes screwy there...

LFP battery pack cooling / thermal management

Preordered and now having second thoughts...anyone else?

Meanwhile, back at the OP, it is reasonable to have doubts once a ā€˜fantasy’ intrudes into reality. Basically the value of the product is directly related to desire, need, and how I’m going to use it. Yeah, I like the nostalgia bits (so wish there was a bench seat option) and techless (somewhat)...

    Level-headed Slate video posted today

Basic utilitarian vehicle that no one has really had the opportunity to get up close and personal with as of yet. So opinions will be plentiful. Basic questions - what are you planning on using it for? what tech/no tech is a deal breaker? why do you even want one? Easy to take shots at...

    Solar tonneau

SEV is a pipe dream for me. Aptera, in their latest video on it, shows gains of a little more than 4kwh with plenty of sun and repositioning the vehicle during the day. The tonneau cover would be hard pressed to come close to that. Remember that Aptera is claiming 10 miles per 1kwh so they are...
