Get a new Polestar 4 cheaper than a Slate SUV

Nothing is free, a $25,000 discount is a red flag.

How are folks buying Slates? Financing / loans?

I might trade in or Finance it directly with Slate, I haven't decided yet. If it was tomorrow, I would trade in.

Q2 delivery estimate for last minute reservations & new orders.

I know this is an oversimplification, but given that Slate's factory capacity is 150,000 yearly, that means each quarter's production is about 37,500. If people are being moved to Q2, does that mean they are in the 75,000 units range? According to the CEO, the break-even point is 80,000...

    Are you… First Shift?

Oh, I see; that makes sense, I thought that if you choose to have them wrap the truck for you they would also apply it.

    Are you… First Shift?

I noticed that the Fender Flares cover part of the "1st Shift" decal. I wonder if Slate will address this. I might go without Fender Flares if they don't change it lol.

Release Day! What pleasantly surprised you. What mildly disappointed you?

Surprised me: the 205 range! I was going for 150 so this is a plus for me. Mildly disappointment: The new off-road tires, this is personal preference but I like more the first ones. Original: New:

Insurance - working with my agent

I asked my insurance (Progressive) and the agent said "I googled it on my phone, cool looking truck!" Lol 😂 . They said they will email me a quote in the next 2 weeks, we will see.

    Third Brake Lights

Does it look different in the website? Probably the website render is closer to the final design. I see them removing the break light from the back window because would make manufacturing and user customization (suv conversion and such) easier.

I can't believe this is how I find out. 😆 I was looking forward to the official announcement though, not so much anymore but we will see!

    Third Brake Lights

Lol that's alright. I just love that old school truck look of the Toyota with the huge branding, the beauty about the slate is that we can customize it how we like it 😍🛻

    Third Brake Lights

Yeah, I think I remember that too. I'm glad they fixed it but I wish it was bigger, Toyota got it right with the Hilux, it need to say "I'm here, I'm cool and this is my name".

    Third Brake Lights

Also, I remember in the first Slate videos on YouTube it didn't say "Slate" at the back lol. Always bothered me a bit because it was a missing opportunity for product awareness, I feel better now that it's there. Lol

Small battery Slate (150 mi) has better driving dynamics?

I think it was for the EV credit, as a the time SK On only manufactured NMC in the USA, I'm not sure thought. NMC is better for colder climates, performance and energy density. I think it would be cool if they use LFP for the standard range and NMC for the long range/colder climates (energy...

What will the chemistry be on the standard range battery?

I believe it's going to be NMC, but it would be nice if it was LFP. LFP is better for fleets (I think) and the Slate success in the first few years will depend on Fleet sales.

Small battery Slate (150 mi) has better driving dynamics?

I've been wondering, since all Slate Trucks are the same off the assembly line (motor and all), wouldn't that mean that the smaller battery one is lighter? Meaning faster, better handling, and more fun to drive. I'm no engineer, so I have no idea, but it makes sense to me.
