Seems like someone should (or probably already has) some kind of kit that will make this modular. Even custom-fit into the Slate dash. Good business opportunity for someone smarter than me.

All the big dealers around me are expanding their service shops to massive cathedrals of car maintenance. None of the local shops have had a new coat of paint on their buildings in 30 years. I could seem them struggling a bit, but the big boys are thriving here.
I would assume a bigger down payment (bigger than the $50 reservation... maybe $100 up to a couple thousand) + paperwork + formal cancellation/refund policy. Hopefully even kits and accessories, too. That would give them solid info on what kits to make and accessories to focus on. They likely...
358,000,000 lbs or 162,500 metric tons. I think every Blank Slate that rolls off the line for the first 3 years would be needed to carry that. That's assuming we're using the bed, not hauling.
For some reason my mind went straight to Super Colon Blow.
Fun fact: If Slate were given $650,000,000 in $100 bills, that would be 7.2 tons, far more than what the Blank Slate can handle (I assume). If that were $1000 bills, it's about .7 tons, which is plausible. If they were in $10,000 bills, that would be like adding an extra rider (~140 lbs).
I agree -- I think it's a smart and humble move for them to make. Chris seems more focused on engineering and manufacturing whereas Peter's background is Amazon which, I'm sure you're all aware, has operations nailed and is pretty good at moving product. Also as a bonus, there's no...
This video is from July 2025, right? I know it was just uploaded to YouTube last week, but Reindustrialize 2.0 was 9 months ago. (And Chris is in a different role now.)
Not surprising that there's nothing new here. But I still enjoy hearing it told in different ways.
My first ('71 Olds 98) had them. 4 power windows, no structure separating them. What a great car.
Second car had cranks ('90 Geo Metro). I went from a tank to a golf cart. Power windows ever since.
Yeah -- I assume "fulfillment" means packing and shipping orders, not applying them. Though, it could probably be set up to handle some limited fleet vehicle wrapping, especially in KY.
