I'm not a fan of roll-up tonneau as they are very easy to slice open. I prefer the tri-fold rigid like the Lomax. I have one of these on my Rivian R1T. It works very well and is watertight and secure.

I actually thought that the tax rebate might survive the BBB, but alas, it has not. I think that Slate is the manufacturer most impacted by this decision. I sure hope that it can survive this blow. The Slate concept is a great idea.

We have had a Rivian for the past two years. At first, we found the OPD a Little difficult. After a short while, we mastered the technique, and have the regenerative braking set to high at all times. Now we can't be without it. This is one of the reasons we are replacing our Silverado Duramax...
We are probably in on a Slate either way. We bought a Rivian three years ago and got the full tax rebate. We plan to replace our Chevrolet Duramax with a Silverado EV later this year. This will be at a price point that may not be eligible for the rebate.
I am hopeful that the EV tax rebate will...
We currently have a fleet consisting of a Rivian R1T and a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado Duramax 2500. We also tow a 25' Airstream Travel Trailer with both of our trucks. Later this year, we plan to replace the Duramax with a Chevrolet Silverado EV Trail Boss and go total electric.
We put a deposit...
We have had our Rivian R1T for over two years. We always drive the Rivian with the highest level of regenerative braking. We have become big fans of One Pedal Driving (OPD) and have become very adept at using it.
We also have a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Duramax. We have found the transition from...
I now wonder if the headlight bulbs will be LED, halogen or incandescent. The latter two would insure that headlights don't ice over in the winter.

We were first day depositors for the Rivian at $1,000. The deposit for a Slate was a no brainer.
I really hope that they make it
We need more startup US manufactures.
If they can pull this off, the Slate could become one of the best selling vehicles in the world.

The Slate is the modern day version of the Ford Model T. The Slate is a very affordable electric vehicle that can be what many people want and need. It fills a niche that no other vehicle addresses. About a million Model T's were sold in each year of its production (1908-1927). The population of...
I think that Slate can meet its time-line as long as it maintains its original tenet of a very simple vehicle. If they give into demands for hundreds of bells and whistles, they will surely fall by the wayside.

That's basically a topper with direct access from the driver/passenger compartment. That's a great idea for many commercial and personal applications.

I am also here from the Rivian Forums. There is a place in this country for for a bare bones EV pickup truck. I look forward to monitoring the progress of the Slate. I hope this to be another great American start-up.
