My F150 Lightning and Kia EV6 go back to their respective dealerships for servicing. Although, that has only been for tire rotations and fluid level inspections at specified intervals. Cost me $20 bucks per visit.
I donāt think that is what they are saying.
I believe they are saying you will not be able to adjust the level of regenerative braking. As in my Kia EV6 which has four levels of regenerative braking.
My Lightning has either no 1- Pedal or full 1 -Pedal.
If you want ātwo pedalā driving just...
Looks like the Slate is not the vehicle for the OP. Might want to checkout the Nissan Versa. Itās not a truck but has a radio is cheap. Good luck to you.
To return to the original topic of this tread, I donāt see Slate making anything with Slate Subscription based.
They have said repeatedly that the Slate will NOT be a connect vehicle. No cell or WiFi connectivity. Whiteout either of those there is nothing they can provide that makes a...
Youāre right, itās not. And that is exactly the problem.
The industry knew 10 years ago that EVs were coming and failed to act and so here we are still waiting the technology to take off amongst our auto manufacturers while the rest of world is moving at lightning speed into the future. Yes...
You might consider casters that can be raised when not needed and lowered to insert or remove the unit. Maybe just at the front corners because you can easily lift the rear while inserting or removing.
Just a thought that keeps with light weight and low cost.
Great job!
As for battery swaps. There have been at least two instances of folks swapping a SR Ford Lightning battery for an ER version without ANY modifications or software changes. It turned out to be fully plug and play.
We can hope Slate follows their lead.
The videos are available on YouTube or...
I thought the review went well and I noticed the truck was very quiet. The suspension looked a little stiff, but that may change on production units.
Overall, good video.
Sure hope this doesnāt turn into a Ford Lightning Pro situation. It was a $40k truck that the common Joe couldnāt buy.
The held them for fleet orders for a long time. If you got one it was an order turn down or second hand.
If Slate starts out selling specifically to fleet buyers and doesnāt...
Larger mirrors seem like over kill since the truck is going be towing a trailer over 8-9ft long. The smaller mirrors will be more efficient and thatās what a Slate buyer should be looking for.
If you need or want a tow vehicle Slate aināt it!
Without a motorized or hydraulic steering mechanism there is no way for a comma unit to control the car. Plus someone has to develop the code to manage the vehicle. If it had the ADAS functionality, itās still unlikely there would be enough demand for the $1k Comma in such a budget truck.
No. It is present in all vehicles. There is an upper and lower buffer that the BMS does not consider when displaying state of charge (SOC).
It does vary from OEM to OEM though, so itās hard to know how much is where (upper/lower).
What I wonder is, is 90% the charge level of the entire battery or is it the usable portion where there is still % not seen or used by the BMS.?
For example: My Lightning has a 143 KWH battery. But, only 131 KWH is available to use. So when I charge to 90% on daily basis Iām only charging...
The AI quote is BS ripped of the pages of the online na sayers.
Battery degradation has proven to far less than any manufacturer original thought it would be. With the exception of Tesla. They are showing higher losses than the other manufacturers.
Travel anxiety is an issue for the newbies...
