I can tell you from the wood panelling on my car it's pretty much all what is now 3M's archetectural vinyl. The 'trim' around the outside is alumium that is also wrapped in a different wood pattern. The easiest thing would probably be to make some custom mouldings and bond them to the panels or...
You can technically get away with a Single name car. Chrysler, for 3 years, spun Imperial off as its own marque and had a single car. Just Imperial.*
Let's hope it does better in reliabaility than that one did...
*US only, Canada still retained it as Chrysler Imperial
Most of my advice about pickup truck ownership growing up is all but solved by Slate having that frunk. Most of it was going to be about keeping stuff behind the seats so it doesn't
get taken, blown away, accidentally rained on.
There's something to be said about how the OEMs manufacture it, I think we've come a long way in the automotive plastics space and have probably learned something over the years. The 30+ year old deformable plastic bumper trim on my LTD (and every one I find in the junkyard) looks the day it did...
Looking at them all side-by-side, the Slate is the most normal looking one of the bunch. The rest either have that no-hood future car design, are trying something way out of left field "Augmented Reality Windshield" or are dead. (RIP Bollinger's base pickup).
Someone who worked at a body shop type place here said there's not much difference to sheet metal, just comes down to quality of prep and primer. Also, from what the Slate reps have told me, ever panel is removable except the roof. That is bonded in.
With the potential Scrambler two door(?) Jeep pickup announcement a few days ago I don't blame you based on what you have now. If they had made the Gladiator a two-door off the bat I'd probably be in one.
Friend of mine did that with a Camry hybrid during the covid supply shortage. He didn't even have the option to choose the color! They would just call him whenever one showed up at the dealer and one by one they went through their list of people either taking it or passing it on to the next person.
During the reservation holder q&a with the CEO, she answered my question pertaining to the speakers at least, she did say 6-in rounds would fit in the door. If that holds up to the final truck, we'll have to see. Because my question also included a double din stereo and they avoided that part.
This, Ford will have their hands full with Dodge and Jeep's upcoming pickup offerings regardless. Stellantis will have much more money to burn for the midsize pickup segment ad space.
Interesting video just came out from Linus Tech Tips of an update/highlights/lowlights of his Comma self-driving AI Driver Assist installed in his Toyota Corolla:
You never know, if you're in state it might be anywhere if you are willing to drive for it. I think with Cybertrucks it was all of California and Texas got priority regardless of where you were.
Here's hoping. I dug around looking for what video I was thinking of and they just called it a "Premium Audio Option" and didn't elaborate after talking about the bluetooth mount. I wouldn't be opposed to some central bluetooth receiver that splits out stereo / 4 way if that's what they go with...
