  1. Did anyone else get a phone call from Slate today?

The "late June" answer given it is now June 17 is strangely non-specific. Many of us within driving distance would like to attend this event, but we need a decent lead time to plan. How about it Slate?
  2. Hoping for a Saturn like buying experience.

I well remember that. Let's not forget the "Saturn Homecoming" events at the factory — a gear head version of Woodstock!
  3. Slate Tour Events - Locations / Dates

    Yes, I agree. Good ideas.
  4. Slate Tour Events - Locations / Dates

Hmm. Here it is June 13 and still no specific location for the announced June 21st Detroit event. Weird.
  5. What happened to the Salt Lake and Detroit events planned for June?

Still waiting for the official word of where June 23 in Detroit will be held
  6. Just got this email from Slate: SIGNED. SEALED. DELIVERED?

Ha ha. So I was at the wrong end of the tent!
  7. Just got this email from Slate: SIGNED. SEALED. DELIVERED?

Thanks, Ben. Followed your directions, but there is no slot for ADDRESS. I only see LOCATION. Is that where my address is supposed to go?
  8. Just got this email from Slate: SIGNED. SEALED. DELIVERED?

I've been through all the menu options having to do with my profile and haven't found where to add my shipping address. Where do I find that particular option?
  9. Another fun commercial: "We’re bringing back crank windows. Get ready to get strong."

It will be interesting to see how basic folks will be willing to go. Believe it or not, I'd like to opt out of having air conditioning (remember the days when A/C was an extra cost option?). But I understand there might only be 3 or 4 of us willing to go full-on Zen/Amish like that!
  10. It looks like SLATE has pathetic EV efficiency. (and a rant).

Very useful and insightful post! I strongly support your idea about the posting of a winter vs. summer range or efficiency number. Come to think of it, that notion applies equally well to ICE vehicles. In regards to the original post in this thread, I can contribute my 2018 BMW i3 efficiency...
  11. Aptera-style solar panels in SUV option.

You're right. Traditional rigid panels used for residential rooftop solar systems (typically with aluminum frames) can add weight. Perhaps 25-50 lbs. or more depending on size (e.g. 100w, 200w, 400w panel). There are many aftermarket portable solar panels that are considerably lighter and...
  12. V2L connection (vehicle-to-load) confirmed. Power tools & appliances w/ your Slate truck

Happy to hear V2L feature is on the planned build sheet. That is definitely a value-added in my book!
  13. NMC -vs- LFP Batteries

Lithium Iron Phosphate cells weigh more for a given output than NMC cells. Chevy Bolt 2026 is going to LiFePo, but most other EV's have opted for the weight savings of NMC. I agree that there are many reasons to stay away from NMC.
  14. Kenda Klever S/T All-Season tire (245/65/17) on standard 17" Slate OEM wheel

I've been trying to find data on the rolling resistance of these standard 17" tires. Did you come across that info anywhere?
  15. Slate Tour Events - Locations / Dates

I plan to attend the June event in Detroit MI. Will report back impressions.
  16. Unrealistic Delivery Date

I agree. A certain amount of skepticism is warranted here. My optimism outweighs my pessimism so they have my $50 vote. Time will tell.
