The second quote is after I asked the same thing.
““The left and right speakers are expected to work independently without requiring the center speaker.”
I asked Slate how the left right and center speakers will work. Here’s what they said:
“Basically, the center speaker is the brain to everything. The left and right speakers connect to the center, and then you connect via Bluetooth. So, that center speaker is required for the rest of the system...
Oh, since it says integrated, I’m taking it as they are not Bluetooth. They may come with a harness so that the device mount is wired to all the speakers. I think that would be the simplest way to do it.
I guess we have different understandings. Yes, there is no head unit. I thought your phone or tablet took the place of a head unit. Whatever is physically connected, using the phone or tablet mount (there is a connection attached to the mount), would play through the integrated speakers. Like...
There is a center Bluetooth speaker option, yes. However, the front left, right, and center speaker options are described as integrated and not Bluetooth. I’m hoping they are decent enough.
We have a Hyundai Kona Electric with a 0-60 of about 7.2 seconds. My old and sold 1992 GMC Sonoma was 8.5 seconds. It’s not a concern in my opinion. I’m sure some third party will come up with some sort of firmware flashing to tweak specs at some point.
Sorry for the super late reply to this but we have a Kona EV and a 2 yr old. It’s been great and one of the reasons I wanted another EV. The Slate will be my daily commuter vehicle in its original pickup configuration. I want the extended battery simply to decrease the amount of times I’ll need...
That must be the hotels rate. The same way a hotel in a major city would charge you an arm and a leg to valet and park when they don’t have their own lot. Usually an extra $50 a day. Anyways, 40 miles of range should only cost like $7-$15 at a public DC charging station. Like I said, where we...
I keep seeing people saying that about EV’s. “What if I want to go on a long trip?”
We’ve done this in our current EV. We just plan it out and stop at a rest stop that has DC charging stations. Plug in, use the restroom, eat, and got back on the road. I get it if you’re the type that only wants...
I don’t know if anyone mentioned this but the Slate comes with a charging cable to at is capable of level 2 charging. You’d just need a 240v outlet. Yes, you’d have to pay to have one installed if you don’t have it already, I just often see posts in other social media making charging an EV seem...
I understand you guys are just joking, yet hopeful, but I still keep seeing articles about Slate with Jeff’s name in it as if it’s his company.
Jeff Bezos has an ownership stake, but is only a financial investor for Slate and not owner or operator. He’s not involved in day-to-day management nor...
