At least it's some good news... maybe Slate can hold the line on it's price .... with tires costing more and wearing out quicker,states charging more for license plates(not getting their gas tax). Charging costs and probably a tax on that ...what do I save?
That reminds me,on lowering the cost of the build,are the brake pads and other maintenance items already off the shelf items being used in other vehicles? Seems to me it would definitely lower design and maintenance costs
Hope they don't cave and add a bunch of crap....build the blank slate as is.....all the same(crept battery choice) Get the assembly line rolling! All the goodies that people want they can add themselves later.
It's a blank slate....build as plane jane as you can. Then, continue to build it for years and years like VW did with the bug.Dont change anything .Don't give in to options...that can come with accessories and aftermarket support. Keep the base model simple....reliable....plain.
It would be great to hear when equipment starts rolling into the plant ....as things start to materialize I'm sure more components will be made in house but to start I'm guessing it'll just be an assembly point for various preassembled components shipped in. I see the plant has many docks and...
Received a nice letter( forum) in the mail yesterday with a note and a rendering drawing of the slate truck. It's a nice reminder they know I'm still here.
