Millennials buying it for their soon-to-be 16-year-old. Because it has newer car safety stuff, limits passengers and reminds of his first car……a Chevy luv…..
+1 for black coffee.
I could see pizza, but I can't remember the last time I wanted a plain cheese pizza. I actually want a Slate.
-1 on popcorn and bacon.
I wonder how AWD EVs perform in deep sand or snow. I’m thinking of my Subaru, which lacked a transfer case. It would start to get hot when the snow was deep enough to push against the bumper. I’m talking about miles of driving in those conditions, where traditional 4x4 vehicles handled it better.
I’m ok with just having a phone for the UI.
Right now I have a MagSafe charger on my dash where I stick my phone while driving. I think the only thing I will miss is the volume knob.
I’d be happy with my phone and a MagSafe mount if it connects to the speakers on power up. The only part of my radio I touch on a regularly is the volume knob.
I grew up in eastern Oregon and never understood why the Portland schools got to close for 2” of snow when we were open with 2’ on the ground. Then I had to do a trip down I-5 after a moderate storm. It was rough. They don’t have plows, or at least not enough. There were ice ruts and huge checks...
I don’t understand why this is so divisive.
I’ve noticed over the years that some Internet communities are aggressive, and just straight mean. This forum seems to be heading that. It’s ok for people to have disagreements without insults.
That’s great! I was thinking about my Slate reservation this week, and the fact that it’s only 2WD.
What made me think about it was that we had a fwd Chevy Equinox rental car. It REALLY struggled to get up a loose gravel forest service road. Either I didn’t have great traction control, or I...
I respectfully disagree with your perspective. While it's true that there weren't many AWD vehicles in the past and RWD cars performed adequately for most situstions, they can struggle in more challenging conditions like ice and steep hills. That's where AWD, 4WD, and tire chains really shine...
That’s true, snow tires do make a Huge difference. It’s just a pain to store them and put them on. But there are places I’d own snow tires, even on an awd
Actually the maverick is on my list. My first kid will be learning to drive in 2027, so the timing is perfect. I think the slate would be a great vehicle to add to family for local travel. My first car was. Chevy Luv, and this reminds me a lot of that.
I wouldn't say never., but I doubt it. I think we'd have see them become successful with there current projects before they would branch out. If they do it will be a long time out
