I hear you, brother. I do. My wife LIKES our neighbors a lot, as it turns out. I need to get another kid or 3 out of school so that I can get to a gentleman's farm with proper equipment.
I might be rethinking my "hey cool, look at me, I have a spare tire on my bumper" approach. I liked the look of it and that it would swing out of the way when loading truck....but it is a parachute from a drag perspective and wouldn't be if somehow added in the bed.
Love it. Growing up as...
Gives me plenty of time to play games about which vehicle will make the final cut in the other 2 garage slots....my plan is that the golf cart gets demoted. My wife is in disbelief that this "Slate Obsession" is ever going to materialize.
It will be made plainly obvious and probably have "notches" for jack placement, etc. Ever since I had my Lightning, I've been paranoid about somebody indiscriminently placing jack under the battery and not the jack point. I just mention it before handing it over and watch through the window...
Hang in there. We've all been there. I like your plan in socking away monthly payments now until your delivery timeframe. You'll enjoy your Slate even more then!
Let's hope if it is just CEO "big picture" speak, but they have to know that for their target demographic, affordability is measured in precise budget amounts and not rounding down to the nearest $100.
Yup…life’s short, and some things are worth noodling around and doing yourself (building furniture) and some things aren’t (buying IKEA if you are a college student or new grad).
Another thought: are the rental companies going to buy and rent the Slates, or did Hertz learn their lesson? Genuinely curious. If I was on business and knew that I’d only drive 150 miles during a visit, I might rent a Slate for kicks and giggles, especially if I didn’t have to charge it?
Agree. If your average speed is less than 50mph, there are a lot of mods with diminishing returns. At highway speeds, the differences are exacerbated, I’d think.
