If you zoom in on the pic, you can see the piece of plywood they drilled the rails to. I believe the screws into the wood, not rails to wood, are going into the bed to secure the plywood to the bed. Are they existing holes? Not sure. I would have to find a pic of a bed with no mods.

I did get a cool bag and got to speak to several of the Slate folks. Nice bunch and full of knowledge of their product. No new information that has not been put out already but glad I made it. I’m 100% still all in. Definitely worth coming and taking a look. My wife will love the tote bag.
