  3. Who’s Reserving the Slate EV: Everyday Americans, Young Professionals, New Drivers, Contemporary Seniors, Auto Enthusiasts

My mistake. Shows how little interest I truly have in a Prius. Thought they had a 100% EV option. So not a competitor with a Prius either. Leaf it is then. Still not a Maverick.
  4. Who’s Reserving the Slate EV: Everyday Americans, Young Professionals, New Drivers, Contemporary Seniors, Auto Enthusiasts

You just made my point with your initial statement. You wanted a truck not a 100% EV. I am not looking for a truck. I am looking for a 100% EV to commute. Maybe that has failed to register with you after my repeated statements as such. Therefore a Maverick is not in play where as a Prius, in...
  5. Who’s Reserving the Slate EV: Everyday Americans, Young Professionals, New Drivers, Contemporary Seniors, Auto Enthusiasts

One is an all electric and one is not. Therefore not competitors for those that are only seeking a fully electric. It’s pretty simple math. A Prius would be a closer competitor for that market segment.
  6. Who’s Reserving the Slate EV: Everyday Americans, Young Professionals, New Drivers, Contemporary Seniors, Auto Enthusiasts

E90400K said: No one has made a good argument that the Maverick is not a competitor with the Slate Truck. MMMM, not exactly accurate by your own posts. You say competitor as a blanket statement in one post then a competitor in the automotive market place in another. All in good fun. Now...
  7. Who’s Reserving the Slate EV: Everyday Americans, Young Professionals, New Drivers, Contemporary Seniors, Auto Enthusiasts

Maybe you have not noticed Maverick does not come in a 100% EV configuration. I want a 100% EV for a commuter. Argument approved. It's not a competitor for those that want a 100% EV.
  8. Who’s Reserving the Slate EV: Everyday Americans, Young Professionals, New Drivers, Contemporary Seniors, Auto Enthusiasts

They have by eliminating it as an option and leaving the decision 100% up to the end user. And again, not related to your post but others, the only thing that makes a Maverick a comparable (and it ain't) is they are both small trucks. That's where it ends. Two completely different animals...
  9. Who’s Reserving the Slate EV: Everyday Americans, Young Professionals, New Drivers, Contemporary Seniors, Auto Enthusiasts

There is no 100% electric Maverick so apples to oranges. I am interested in two things. Bare bone minimalistic approach and 100% electric. Maverick is neither of those. No roll up windows, no no radio, etc. They ain't the same.

  13. Slate towing trailer (video) -- 104 degrees heat, 3500 ft grade

Kind of my thought at this point. Don't amount to a hill of beans other than for the sake of debate.
  14. Simple low-tech audio ideas

If it works in a SxS, does the closed cab of the Slate make that big of a difference for sound quality. My guess is yes from what seem to be informed opinions above. It will automatically connect and power up once power is on. No manual involvement. Would make for an easy sound system. I am...

If I have to find out, it will be well less than 15F where ever you are because 15F here and the world ends!!! Hurricanes, no problem. Cold, forget about it. LOL
  16. Simple low-tech audio ideas

Ok. I have one in my garage that sounds pretty good but I get the acoustics of the truck may turn it to garbage. I will give my current one a try first.
  17. Documentary: How a Slate beats the heat (hot weather testing / towing)

Video not working for me using the link in post 1. Error has occurred. Found it on the tubes. Meh. Did not really say much other than they passed the minimum test. Which is good.
  18. Slate towing trailer (video) -- 104 degrees heat, 3500 ft grade

Going back to the first of my friends getting a car and time for a stereo upgrade. I was always a wiz with electronics so I took to car stereos like a duck to water. No internet for help either. Trial and error and I got pretty dang good at it. So much so if anyone in my high school wanted...
  19. Slate towing trailer (video) -- 104 degrees heat, 3500 ft grade

My jet ski and trailer is just under 1,000 pounds. Not that the Slate would be the primary towing choice. Good to know if need be, it can.
