As one of the ID.4 early adopters in 2021 I’d encourage you to investigate ownership experience in their forum (https://www.vwidtalk.com/). VW has already slowed production at their Chattanooga plant and they’ve already cut back the ID Buzz as well.
Used Cooper SE looks to be an attractive option if you can live with the pitiful range. Turned in my leased ID.4 two years ago and while my Maverick Hybrid ticks all the boxes a BEV is so compelling for local driving. A used BEV towing a small utility trailer occasionally is a solid option IMO
I will place a lot of weight on Jay’s views. His YouTube content and his modeling as a “car guy” we can identify with simply places him on top. Also looking forward to a review by Alex on Autos.
As one of the early adopters for ID.4’s one would think I’d wait a few years but seems like pushing out $50 worth of chips is reasonable in this case.

The only question I submitted was concerning the capability to flat tow behind a motorhome. I didn’t receive a email response but appreciate that she put out a definitive answer. I had already reached out to Demco and BlueOx offering my truck for their development work and they wisely said...
I had mixed reactions as well, as true of any car company I had too lofty expectations. And yes, I’m one of the “Maverick boys” but at least my truck hasn’t offered to randomly become a brick like my ID.4 did. Sad fact is our trucks are now $7500 more expensive and I’m a little wary of the value...
The reservation owner Q&A event tomorrow should address this and their long term health, they go bust then I’ll have a second Maverick Hybrid to buy.
Guess I need to stop being lazy and put in my reservation number, especially since I signed up within two days of the announcemen. Agree with Tommy on a lot of his observations (I’ve just about given up on the TFL family, Roman has worn thin) but watching this and the Munro video has me...
