Wheel theft is still really common--look at the Accord. It's all about what the resale market will bear. Look at the Prius cat theft problem. You can't resell a license plate, but you can pawn off wheels, light covers, or anything else there's a market for. I don't think it'll be a huge issue...
There's something in the middle of the glass at the very top of this photo, but it's also possible that's something in the tent structure visible through the glass.
...I thought there was a video (possible Rich Rebuilds') where someone at Slate mentioned the back of the cap was what became the back of the SUV kit. When you look at the 3D concept in the builder, the blank Slate appears to have the hinges on the outside of the glass. The interior cab view...
I love it. Makes it really easy to pop the roof and windows off to make the SUV into a version of the OAK while retaining the weatherproofing for everyone not in southern california.
It's interesting to see they wrapped it between the two events. With all the rewrapping they're doing, I wonder if at this point they're just pulling off slate grey panels and adding a pre-wrapped "B" set.
They got back to me on social--fastback won't have a panel the way the squareback will (which I saw a video that also said the windows will be too 🤞).
They suggested I just get the open air kit (OAK). I'm under the impression that the OAK is only the roll-bar that's under both roof types...
Realize you’re looking for a removable roof over the cab, but I’m at least stoked the square-back has a removable roof. Any word if the fastback will have it?
