    New EV worries

Your battery should last 10 years and 200,000 miles. You may or may not still be under warranty by the time it happens. Regardless, you may be able to replace/repair some of the cells instead of the whole battery to get many more years out of it. Also, battery technology is getting better every...

    Happy 6-month anniversary

Luckily for us, this company has nothing to do with Amazon :) It was only partially funded by Bezos's Fund which he doesn't even fully manage himself. Amazon does not own Slate, they are just an early investor in Slate - which means they will likely have minimal sway on decision making at...

The Hypothetical Vehicle I Would Chose Over The Slate

Ironwood Motors looks like someone quickly used AI image generation and slapped it onto a cheap website (which also likely was done with AI because it's that sloppy). Probably took an hour or two total. I can 100% guarantee it won't become a company and there's no chance they will even build a...

The Hypothetical Vehicle I Would Chose Over The Slate

The only hypothetical vehicle I'd buy over the Slate is if they made my 2014 Toyota Tacoma Regular Cab brand new again with all of the same parts as original. I love my 4cyl 2wd base spec with crank windows. Though a 200hp electric motor in the rear with ~240 miles of range and a frunk would...

Slate CEO talks accessories, third party parts, Slate Marketplace (TechCrunch interview)

Not sure if anyone else saw this, but Chris Barman gives more insights into the accessory marketplace and how they plan on monetizing it. Plus they will integrate 3rd party parts into the slate customizer so we can see everything in 3D  I recommend watching the whole interview with her...

Steel Wheels (Silver) and Fastener Hidden Behind Wrap + Swap to LFP?

You should be able to use paint stripper on the wheels when you go to sell it, or leave them as-is and see if it sells with them painted. Might be a bit of a pain to get it all off, but it could be worth it if you enjoy the looks and drive the vehicle for a while before selling it

Steel Wheels (Silver) and Fastener Hidden Behind Wrap + Swap to LFP?

White painted wheels could look great too. That will definitely be the least expensive solution too, solid idea. I may play around in photoshop to see what painting the bumpers white would look like, that may also be an interesting look.

Steel Wheels (Silver) and Fastener Hidden Behind Wrap + Swap to LFP?

Quick photoshop of what I was picturing (I was at work when I started this thread lol). This would be my ideal Slate setup - all factory except a two-toned wrap and a pair of silver steelies. Plus the fasteners covered up by the wrap.

Steel Wheels (Silver) and Fastener Hidden Behind Wrap + Swap to LFP?

From the 3D model on the Slate Configurator online it looked to me like the fasteners were slightly recessed beyond the panel side, which is why I was hopeful. We will see when the truck comes out. I'm sure the look of the exposed fasteners will grow on me after I have it for a while anyways :)

Steel Wheels (Silver) and Fastener Hidden Behind Wrap + Swap to LFP?

I am hoping that instead of the black steel wheels we can get them in silver from the factory, similar to any "Steelies" you'd typically see, without the need to wrap them. I personally don't like black wheels on my vehicles, I think that it is more of a fad, and really like the classic look of...
