To be contrary to your contrary, it's the dealers who make money off of auto maintenance. They charge the labor and mark-up the OEM parts. Shade-tree mechanics use their own labor and often buy aftermarket.

One would hope the paint is at least UV stabilized.
I was thinking of painting 70s-style sripes in tri-shade blue over the base gray. Removing each panel and painting them individually might make it easier for a novice like myself.
And there's no way they're putting in a 312-Volt pack. That's only 220Vrms for the motor. At the 150kW rating, thats a 682- Amps, not including efficiency losses. The performance and efficiency hit for the smaller battery would be huge.
So yeah...pretty sure the packs are parallel.
I would think the battery packs are parallel. The voltage difference between a five and eight pack series configuration would take a large bite out of motor efficiency in the smaller battery.
Assuming each pack is 100 Volts (for ease of calculation), five packs give you 500 Volts versus 800...
I want a small and efficient two-door pickup truck.
I don't want an extra set of doors I will never use, therefore wasting space in my garage - or anywhere I need to park.
I don't want a vehicle so tall I need to climb in our out.
I don't want a vehicle that's so big I have to think too much...
An unboosted 13.5 Volt amplifier will do about 16 Watts per channel into 8-Ohm speakers. That should be plenty for a small cab.
I'll get an amp with an internal boost supply if I need more.
The is rather unfortunate. My old 2012 Kia Soul gave me a choice - remote or key from the same fob.
I guess if the battery dies or electrical system fails, you're SOL. Imagine a flatbed driver showing up in this scenario...
"Sorry, I can't tow this without seeing your registration."
"I can't...
You guys have all been spoiled. My current ride is a '21 Seltos with the slow four and CVT. 0-60 in something under 9 seconds.
Slowest car I've owned was an '82 Chevette, auto. 0-60 in 15, 70mph top speed.
Slate shhpoots itself in the foot by using a square front end. Other than added frunk space, the grille and horizontal hood is a fashion statemet at tge exoense of arerodynamics.
How about a sloped hood like a 90's SR5 ?
