Love the picture.
I think I've said elsewhere: this thing, lowering kit, and vertically split rear doors has major potential as a service van type utility vehicle.
Shoot, if the panels are as modular as we've been told, you could make it virtually seamless with proper body integration.
Judging by a post in the thread that spawned this one, the Jeep Patriot will be pretty darned close to the SUV Slate. The 2-door Ford Bronco looks similar but a bit taller and with a much higher front end...
Thanks! Between that graphic and the fact that I just learned about the Carsized website, I'm getting more excited about the form factor of the Slate. The Element makes a great stand-in for now while I'm comparing the Slate to other things on the road. I just wish that Slate would line up...
Every goofy picture like this makes me want one more and more.
If only that stupid B pillar weren't so wide. It really does make a blind spot, so I guess I'll be bolting on convex mirrors.
Just chiming in to echo most of what's already being said.
Small and simple, and all the things that follow from those.
I'm not old, but I don't want to have to climb up into the truck I might use for moving the occasional couch. I like easy parking. I like being able to get into the bed...
Looking at that little piece of trim hanging on a wall suddenly inspires me to plan some really silly things. Perhaps a wrought iron fence looking thing. Perhaps a mossy stone wall made out of XPS foam and lots of faux finishing...
If it's really going to be that easy to decorate, I'm going to...
Simple and Electric are why I'm going to buy this. Small and Truck are what got me interested. Customizable (and repairable) just makes me happy about the idea. I'm pretty close to the center of this diagram.
“We knew that this thing had to at least be customizable from the ground up, so we wanted to have something that’s very simple, yet, I would say timeless,”
I really can't wait for Slate University so I know how serious they are about this. "Ground Up" is so very different from "Slatelets".
It actually seems bigger in person than it does in pictures. The hood is not small and the cabin feels really large. My tall and wide nephew fit quite comfortably when they were still letting people sit in it at events.
It's weirdly proportioned, but I'm ok with that.
Also, if they can make a...
I wouldn't go as far as to call it a "great" video. The AI got really hard to listen to, and it seemed like about 75% filler.
At least it laid out the timeline well and gave a good overview of those three things. I just wish I hadn't had to spend half an hour to get it.
Ok, if the windshield were more sloped and cab weren't so cavernous I'd have my first customization project right there. (Seriously, it's huge in there)
