I also do this! But I am not averse to installing a string in the garage to hit the windshield when I pull in the right amount. 😁
With the Teslas the visibility is so bad a rear camera is necessary. With the Slate I expect the visibility to be great (in truck form), that I can see a backup...
1) EV. This is the second EV I'll have owned. I love the "EV" side of my Tesla, but I don't like the rest of it (aside from the 1-pedal driving, but that's another thread).
2) A (lowrider) truck. I've been wanting a lowered "S10" for a while, but they're all rusty now. This will scratch that...
Let's just say I know too much. 😅 Without getting into too much detail, during the launch phase there were many manufacturing issues, and our sellable units were few. To be fair, it's been a few years since I left so let's hope they've got it figure out now.

I don't mean to derail the conversation, but is this true? JJE is the motor supplier? I worked for them here in Michigan for 2.5yrs as one of the manufacturing engineers launching their first NA assembly facility. It was a nightmare. If this truly is the case, I may withdraw my reservation. 😞

I'm also planning to go this direction with my Slate. I've wanted a "custom" mini truck for years, but good luck finding one that's not all rusted to hell. So, I'm super excited by the DIY possibilities.
Some things I've been thinking about:
20" wheels - thinking some American Racing Classic...
