I'm not worried about the quality of the Slate Truck, I believe they are using quality parts and motors and batteries. It's the business side that worries me.
If they go bankrupt after a few years; where do we get parts or a new battery years later?
Of course they won't go out of business if...
It may be, but I still like the plain truck that I can work on myself. I will just have to wait and see what the Slate Truck is priced at with the extended battery.
If the Slate's price is just as much with nothing but an extended battery I'll probably choose another vehicle.
2026 Nissan Leaf has 300 mile range and it is loaded with many extras for $30,000. I'm confused how a non-painted small truck can cost more with nothing extra and only go half the mileage range.
I hope the "Extended Range Battery" isn't thousands more than the standard range battery in the Slate Truck.
150 mile range just isn't going to suit me. I want more miles.
Does Slate truck come with a plug for a 60 amp outlet NEMA 14-60R?
Or do I have to use a 50 amp outlet NEMA 14-50?
The 50 amp plug is different from the 60 amp plug.
But it says it can be charged with a 60 amp plug at home.
I don't have an ev yet. I do want one.
I've used the charger location app https://abetterrouteplanner.com/ recommended by philauex.
On hwy 45 north from Tupelo I've seen 2 places to charge(1 hour and 20mn apart).
On hwy 25 north from Amory, I've seen 0 places to charge.
If there are more...
Charging at home is fine. It’s the road trips up hwy 25 that worries me. There are no chargers along that highway from Amory, MS North to TN.
Does the Slate come with a 240v plug for home? What about a 240v wall outlet?
My problem is that I am very limited to Super Chargers or any chargers for that matter. I'm in North MS and Tupelo is 35 miles from me. It only has a few charging stations.
When I travel up into North Ms close to TN line there are even less chargers available. I'd like to take road trips in...
If the BMS goes bad will I have to replace the battery too, or Can I just replace the BMS on the Slate truck?
I heard that Tesla makes you replace the battery and the BMS when it fails. That's very expensive.
