lol, same, except I keep taking them back off. Then a couple of hours later... back on, then back off. I really don't like them but they keep popping back onto my builds. I don't know why I'm doing this either 😂

They are painfully expensive but I WANT THAT.

The good news is that after ~4 months of driving at 4 cents per mile in a lightweight, efficient EV instead of a gas guzzler I'll have saved enough to pay for them! Everything after that is pure savings.

Do we have any updates on how many of the Slate reservations have turned into preorders? On a related note, has Slate talked about how many preorders without prior reservation have been made?

I'm a preorder without prior reservation, the $50 reservation just wasn't on my radar.
The June 24th Slate show caused me to watch a number of YouTubes, read past articles, and cruise the Slate website. I concluded the $300 preorder looked like a reasonable gamble.

I understand the $50 reservation holders have 30 days from the June 24th show to fish or cut bait on making a $250 preorder. After that I expect I'll get a definitive delivery date. Likely your date will get updated then also.

As far as updates on reservations converting to preorders I've heard nothing and don't expect to until after the 30 days after the show has lapsed, if then. Preorders seem likely to be announced on a monthly basis or maybe quarterly. Depends on the marketing folks.

I checked today and didn't find any update.

I didn't want to clutter the sticky pre-order thread. I played around with the data a bit and got the following graph from our data there. The problem is a lot of the reservation dates were blank. There were also some wrong dates -- mine included, ha ha, because I put in 2024. Also, people who were what we call DWCS (coming soon) may have gotten promoted but didn't fill in the update form.

So the data is dirty, and I probably scraped poorly. But given all that, I think the best representation of late reservations is in this graph in dark green (2026 - Q2).

Most landed in Apr-Jun, with quite a few in DWCS. But many of those have since been promoted to Apr-Jun.

Maybe of more interest is all the first or second day reservations that landed in Apr-Jun.

I think Slate will reshuffle the deck in the upcoming days, and definitely after July 24.

I looked at the data yesterday, didn't break it down like that, but do notice the increase in orders with the second window. This is likely due to continued ramping up at the factory. The drop off after that seems to indicate that they plan to have most existing orders that do convert this month filled not long after those first 6 months.
The early reservations that became later delivery windows just about has to be location logistics. They probably at least have preliminary locations planned out for the high volume areas, for example minimum 3 in California(42 orders from that data), at least 1-2 each in Florida(25), and Texas(21), depending on where in FL and TX the orders are, etc. Some areas, and we really don't have enough data, probably have so few orders that they are low on the list for fulfillment.
Even within the California subset, there is a significant block of Coming Soon, part of which is early reservations. Some may be far northern or inland locations, where they are at least 1, maybe 2 charging stops away from my presumed 3 fulfillment locations.
