Agreed. I think whoever made these size estimates is not very good at math. I thought someone had done a size estimate several weeks ago and it landed at 195 or so overall length. I would be more inclined to believe that. The narrowness is more unbelievable than the length. No way that cab can be as roomy as a RAV4 with a 60 inch width. That quoted width is a foot narrower than a Maverick which is wider than a Slate.
I’m coming from Honda Fit, and three Acura Integra’s, so most any other vehicle for my “husky” wide volume body would be pretty roomy.
I've already seen some auto journalists trying to do rough math on the UEV inconclusively.
The Ford is going to have better aero than the Slate. Ford's team made a point of going all-out on any extra range they could find, where the Slate has less emphasis on range, a boxy shape, and constraints like the wrap-friendly geometry.
I've listened to several interviews with Alan Clarke. I don't think it is accurate to quote Alan saying customers expect or demand 300 miles of range. What I recall him saying was that SOME customers expect 300 miles of range and that configuration will be available to them. I don't think the 300 mile range version is going to be LFP nor is it going to be $30k. The $30k will be a lower range LFP truck similar to the Slate.

No possible way Ford’s 51 kWh battery is going to produce a range exceeding 200+ miles. That would require Tesla Model 3 efficiency. Not possible. Great target marketing to put doubt in the minds of consumers thinking about buying a Slate.
It's been pointed out elsewhere that while they have said starting around 30k, and separately said up to 300 mile range, those two options must be exclusive. The bare bones 30k model will surely be significantly lower range, the long range model will surely be more than 30k.
That Taco would look so much better without the extra (dumb) back doors...then add 1/2 to a foot more to the bed...I tried to remove the black bra and camo wrap to get a better sense of the lines, but the result was pretty much the same. This Ford truck is quite bulky. To be fair, I applied the same camo to the Slate truck and a handsome Taco to see how they are impacted...

Seriously. Pickups (& SUV's) went bad when soccer-mom's got tired of mini-vans...wanted "big & powerful", thinking that meant "safety"? I dunno. Get an 'effin' Suburban for your family.
Safety is cool. I like that there are fewer traffic (percentage-wise) fatalities and injuries now than there was 40 years ago.
But? What did the reactionary policies of the 90's & 2000's miss?
Some of my best memories are from riding in the back of the farm-truck...wind blowing everything around. Camping trips out west in a pickup-camper...laying above the cab, watching the miles fly by.

I get the safety thing, I don't get the "bigger, better, drives like a luxury car" thing.
That is my main gripe against that which the "truck" has become. I've read enough articles & thought posts to ascertain that the industry really didn't follow the wishes of the populace when it comes to pickups.
I like that Slate (even though I'm not totally sold on the electric thing) seems to be trying to get back to "utility". I like that the "blank" has possibilities.
