That was my thought, this may actually be THE or one of THE official lift kits that will get details soon in the maker.

Many of the accessories in the Maker (particularly in the Utility section) are 3rd party. I would assume Slate is actively courting the aftermarket accessory providers and is more than happy to provide appropriate technical details to established companies willing to sign an NDA.

I understand your scepticism , but I doubt there's anything nefarious going on. They just want to put their offering forward ASAP, to generate awareness in the community, and since we're talking about them, it's had the desired effect.

I presume this is a very early rough concept, to be fine tuned, before actual delivery. (They're selling the kit on a preorder basis.)

Isn't it go in in 2 wheel drive and use 4 wheel drive when you get stuck? In Slate's case it's 2 wheel drive and get towed out backwards.

4x4 only allows you to get stuck worse if you go in in 4x4. lol

And I do agree, that if you have never been stuck, you have not truly lived the off road experience.

The Slate website has put a call out to accessory makers for a while now, so if this company put the effort into reaching out, they may have gotten ahead of some others.

Correct to all who replied. The question remains, have these companies or interested accessory developers received CAD drawings, or other technical guidance from Slate? NOTE the past tense of the statement. Anybody can create an AI product claiming Slate compatibility and start taking pre-orders, cash in the bank. My concern is that no-one has shown that Slate has green lighted a product or given definitive specs to ANYBODY. I'm a full on fan-boy of Slate, I expect it to be the case going forward. I also know the world we live in and that some actors will try and exploit the open source nature of this awesome project and fleece people. Keeping a healthy level of apprehension regarding "promised" products is just a best practice.
