Are you adding or removing options to your Pre-Order?

Now that we have a configurator with prices shown are you changing your builds?

I had some killer builds with lots and lots of upgrades and accessories. I have found myself going back through and removing/deleting some of the more frivolous options (i.e. $89 for Wheel Decals, Wheel Tire Packages with tires that are not my preferred brand for >$2000! 🤞🏼 Tire Rack adds wheel/tire packages & configurator for Slate). As much as I want the Fast Back, I may just go basic pick-up to start now.

There is also a part of me that feels I can get a faster delivery window with a more "Basic" Slate by dropping options.

Which direction are you going? Add or Remove?

P.S. I wish the rear seats were a sub-option with the SUV/Fastback kit. I really just want the look of the Fast Back and enclosed cargo area and will never have a need for backseat passengers.

I built 10 different Slates and deleted every one of them. Once I knew all the options and pricing, it was easier to start from scratch. I now have both truck and SUV builds ranging from $32-$38K.

I deleted most things; I have about 5 different buildups that I've been poking around with but realistically all I'll be doing for my actual order will be what I deem as being the essentials:

• Door cubby organizers
• Hitch receiver
• Upgraded front and rear lights
• All-weather floormats

Honestly kicking around one of the wrap options but I'm waiting on getting a bit more info on the blank Slate panels to see if the wrap would just be for looks or if it's a "soft requirement" to UV protect the panels since I don't have a garage. I'm guessing it's fine, and the wraps are inexpensive enough I may go ahead and order one anyway.

The interior stuff like the dash panels and armrest custom colors I'll be ordering bit by bit after delivery. Also hoping that the accessories you order just come in a big Slate-branded reusable box in the bed of the truck.

It's the Blank Slate for me. I'll add stuff as the need arises. Comparing Slate options with aftermarket or custom.
I do plan to get a bed cover and hitch.

I deleted all my builds with the price reveal and started over.
Now it's a base Slate or a base SUV, depending on a closer inspection of the SUV Kit.
Also waiting for more Cargo Kit clarity.
The only items I'm now interested in are the center speaker (maybe all three) and the tailgate lock. Anything else I can get later.

I’m keeping it just the blank slate to minimize the local and recurring town taxes:

“ 70% of a vehicle's average retail value (MSRP and a fixed depreciation schedule) multiplied by the town's current mill rate.”

…but “average retail value” concerns me. I guess we will see. I will add stuff afterwards.

Which I cannot do if it's a semi since I'm on a one-lane concrete and gravel driveway three houses / lots off the real street. One of those beach town lanes. PITA sometimes.

Ha ha! I'm not in the Brunswick area but Savannah. Tybee Island was once called Savannah Beach.

I was unclear when I said truck delivery. I meant delivery of packages by truck, not delivery of my Slate truck. A straight truck can make it in and out of my driveway-size lane, but a semi with trailer cannot. And when someone says they are shipping "by truck" they generally mean by semi tractor trailer.

Of course, if I already have my Slate truck, I can meet them on the street and load from the big truck to the little one!

At least where I live, a semi wouldn't come to your location.

Semis unload at a distribution center and a box truck comes to your location.

Your shippers are much more civilized than mine then. And it's not just the island. We have semi's dropping stuff all over Georgia, including in-town Atlanta where I used to live.

I had to hire three straight (box) trucks to move here instead of one semi trailer.

Not every item is priced. I still see items with no price in the lists

I think the distinguishing factor is the size of the load.

An "LTL shipment" is a Less-Than-Truckload shipment. Those are consolidated with other shippers’ freight and moved together in semis.

For logistical reasons (think: some LTL loads blocking other LTL loads in the semi trailer) LTL loads are unloaded and sorted at a distribution center, then delivered in smaller trucks.
